2010: Launch of multi-service network in Krasnoyarsk

In September 2010, it became known that Orange Business Services completed the commissioning of a multi-service network in Krasnoyarsk, having received permits from the Roskomnadzor Directorate for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The extensive fiber network will significantly improve the availability of all Orange telecommunications services to corporate customers in the region.

The new generation city network was launched in order to expand the data network based on a single channel infrastructure and allows customers in Krasnoyarsk to provide a full range of integration telecommunications services with an even higher level of quality, as well as more efficiently use the bandwidth of communication channels. Metro Ethernet's built telecommunications infrastructure delivers all kinds of traffic - voice, data, and video - at speeds of up to 1 Gb/s with high levels of information reliability and security.

Ports in the new network allow customers to connect using FastEthernet and Gigabit Ethernet packet switching technologies. The network is managed from the Orange Business Services Network Management Center in Moscow.

The launch of a multi-service network in Krasnoyarsk is part of Orange Business Services long-term strategy for infrastructure development in Siberia. As part of this strategy, in 2009-2010. a fixed area telephone network was put into operation in the Novosibirsk region, city networks in Omsk and Novosibirsk were modernized, and a reserve technical center was opened in Novosibirsk.

Orange Business Services has been operating in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since 2004, today among customers in the region are large Russian and foreign companies, as well as state-owned enterprises and organizations.

Valkovich Vladimir, head of the Department of Technical Development and Operation of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS countries, notes: "Today in Siberia and the Far East, coverage with terrestrial communication networks outside large settlements is clearly not enough. As part of its long-term strategy, Orange is conducting systematic work in this direction in order to be able to offer corporate customers not only satellite access channels that are in demand in hard-to-reach points (we have our own satellite hub station in Krasnoyarsk), but also terrestrial communication channels that are optimal in terms of price and quality.
