2023: Creating a program for engineering calculations

Perm Polytechnic import substitution To the program for engineering calculations. The University announced this on August 8, 2023.

Compositional materials are increasingly used in the creation of space rocket technology. Unlike metal alloys, composites significantly reduce the labor intensity of manufacture and reduce the weight of the product, preserving or increasing its strength, stiffness and other significant parameters. The developers of the Perm Polytechnic have created the X Composite program, which, within the framework of a single interface, will allow representatives of the engineering and aerospace industry to predict the properties of the new material in advance without conducting expensive experiments, which will improve the quality of aircraft and rocket parts.

Known software complexes model the idealized structure of the material, but in the manufacturing process the geometric parameters of the frames of future composites may vary. According to scientists, the main advantage of the X Composite complex is multi-level modeling within the framework of one program. This makes it possible to more accurately evaluate the properties of the composite material, given the variations in the uneven deformation of the yarns of which it consists. In addition, the software complex will be able to accurately determine the ability of the material to resist tension, compression or deformation under shear, "said Sergey Vlasov, a student of the aerospace department of the Perm Polytechnic.

The product will provide the industry of our country, and in the future, the world production with tools for modeling the life cycle of various composite materials, reducing direct and indirect production costs. The results obtained in the form of a software product will be of particular importance when solving urgent applied problems in the field of design and manufacture of aircraft products and structures, - said one of the developers, acting Pavel Pisarev, head of the Department of Mechanics of Composite Materials and Structures, Aerospace Faculty of the Perm Polytechnic, Candidate of Technical Sciences.

According to polytechnics, the program developed by them is able to get ahead of the concept of functioning of such foreign products as ANSYS, Digimat, COMSOL MP and Fidesys.
