Philips Lumify is the portable program focused ultrasonic solution of the company based on mobile technologies.

2018: Entry into the Russian market

The Philips company announced on December 5, 2018 Zdrav.Expert an output to the Russian market of an intelligent solution Lumify — a portable medical device using which the Russian doctors will be able easily to conduct ultrasonographies and telemedicine consultations in any place and at any time. As the display the normal smartphone or the tablet to which the ultrasonic sensor of Philips is connected is used. The solution allows doctors to conduct a research clicking of one button in read minutes. At the same time Lumify creates exact and qualitative clinical images which can be transferred for the expert analysis and to get remote advice or the second opinion, told in the company.

In general the solution Philips Lumify is designed to save doctors from need of transportation of the device ultrasonography, allowing to carry out diagnostics quickly. Different OUSE sensors allow to expand a device scope. According to developers, Lumify can be applied to ultrasonic examinations of a cardiovascular system, the musculoskeletal device, soft fabrics and vessels, an abdominal cavity and other bodies.

Philips Lumify is the first in own way portable ultrasonic device based on mobile application intended for the solution of different clinical tasks. It allows to carry out OUSE diagnostics where the patient needs it, and to help when other technologies are unavailable or require considerable time expenditure — Olga Bershadskaya, the head "Ultrasonic Systems", Philips companies explained Zdrav.Expert. — For carrying out a research it is enough to install the application on the smartphone or the tablet and to connect to it the ultrasonic sensor, necessary for diagnostics. It is sure that the mobility and simplicity of technology will make it demanded among specialists and will help to increase the speed of assessment of a status of patients.

According to representatives of Philips, the Lumify device expands possibilities of application of a method of ultrasound and makes it more available to needs of different specialists both in large city medical institutions, and in small rural medical aid stations. Through Lumify doctors can not only carry out the emergency assessment of a status of the patient, but also exchange data. Lumify works at Android devices, equipped with Internet access.

Purchase of AF of Germany 142 portable ultrasonography devices

On November 15, 2017 it became known of purchase by the armed forces (AF) of Germany of the portable diagnostic Philips Lumify ultrasonography system. The device, compatible to the tablet, is supposed to be used as normal equipment when rendering the emergency help and rescue operations, HCB News reports.^[1] Read more here.

Structure of a set of Philips Lumify

For November, 2017 the set of Philips Lumify includes:

• Ultrasonography sensors (three types — convex C5-2, linear L12-4 and sector S4-1),
• The tablet in the protected execution,
• All necessary supplies, such as gel for ultrasonography,
• The cloud applicaion for Android,
• Program of software updating,
• Guarantee of the producer and access to Philips services.
