2024: Virtual Card Launch

In early September 2024, testing of the new Podorozhnik virtual transport card, which allows you to pay for travel on public transport through a mobile application, began in St. Petersburg. The project was initiated by the state government institution "Transportation Organizer" as part of a program to modernize the electronic fare control system in the city.

At the first stage of the pilot project, users will be able to issue and replenish the most popular single ticket, functioning on the principle of an electronic wallet, as well as a combined monthly ticket, which allows you to move by bus, tram and trolleybus behind the ₽2470. In the future, it is planned to expand the functionality of the application by adding the possibility of buying all types of travel tickets, including preferential ones.

The main purpose of testing is to ensure the high quality of the application and prevent possible problems with its use. The first 10,000 users selected for participation will be able to test the application in real conditions and leave their reviews. Based on the results of testing, GKU "Transportation Organizer" will make the necessary changes to improve user experience and prepare the program for a full launch.

The application is available to users smartphones on operating systems Apple iOS version 13.4 and higher, as well as 8 Android and newer. Test participants will be able not only to purchase and replenish tickets online, but also to view the history of payments and trips. In addition, the application is integrated with the Public Portal, transport which allows you to build routes, familiarize yourself with schedules and various ways to pay for travel.^[1]
