2021: Start of fast charging for electric vehicles in Russia
September 21, 2021 it became known about the start of the installation of fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EZD) by Porsche. At the time of this announcement, the German manufacturer launched four points - one in Moscow and three in St. Petersburg.
Charging stations with a maximum power of 320 kW and 800 volts of DC were developed by Porsche Engineering. Depending on the electric car, they are able to charge the battery up to 100 km of range in five minutes.
It is claimed that the new charging station is suitable for electric vehicles of all brands with the most common combined charging system (CCS) worldwide.
Depending on the model, the new ultra-fast charging station can be used for both cars with 400-volt and 800-volt traction batteries. The charging power automatically adapts to the maximum permissible charging power for the car.
The commissioning of the first Porsche ultra-fast charges took place in addition to the 30 22 kW AC charging stations already installed for customers at official Porsche dealers. By the end of 2021, nine ultra-fast charging stations will be installed. It is expected that by 2022 almost the entire Porsche dealer network will offer this service to its customers.
By September 21, 2021, Porsche sells Russia electric cars, Taycan as well as rechargeable hybrids Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It is known that since the beginning of 2021, Russians have purchased 421 copies of Tyacan, and the company does not disclose statistics on hybrids sold.
Porsche plans to invest up to 6 billion euros in the development of electric car projects. The funds will be spent on the development of new and modernization of existing models, the expansion of factories and the creation of charging infrastructure.[1]
