In version 2.0, the platform received an updated architecture and a completely different technology stack. While retaining the key features of the previous version, PPEM 2.0 implements:

• Improved performance with the benefits of the Golang language in multi-threaded tasks and efficient resource management.
• Simplified distribution and installation without the need for additional dependencies compared to the previous version of PPEM.
• Monitoring flexibility and integration with Postgres Pro OpenTelemetry Collector, which allows you to collect metrics and logs from DBMS instances, as well as operating system metrics and work with external storage.
• Significant optimization and error elimination.

The first version of the user documentation has also been developed for PPEM, which is already available in the Postgres Professional repository in installation packages.

With the release of version 2.0, PPEM returns to the quarterly update schedule. Upcoming releases will include support for BiHA built-in failover clusters, expectation profiling, trigger notifications, integration with query plan optimization tools, new dashboards, and more.

Postgres Pro Enterprise Manager covers the full range of tasks from four main categories: maintenance and configuration, performance diagnostics, routine task monitoring, backup and recovery.
