2019: Start of post-attributional protection against a mobile fraud

The AppsFlyer company starts post-attributional protection against a mobile fraud from damages in which are assessed 2019 at $2.3 billion.

The companies use different services to advertize the mobile applications. Such services get profit for each downloading of the application. But sometimes services use different fraudulent schemes, for example, of bots which download the application and make for unfair platforms profit. Because of such actions advertisers lose billions on false installations worldwide. So, in Russia only in one quarter the quantity of a fraud grew by 9.4%, told in the company.

AppsFlyer learned to calculate these false installations thanks to post-attributional protection. Even if at the time of downloading of the application by a bot it manages to deceive a system, thanks to post-attribution it will be all the same recognizable.

Advertisers as a result receive the complete report and see all fraudulent activities connected with downloading of the application and can not pay advertizing services for such false installations.

2017: Description of Protect360

Solution Protect360 presented by AppsFlyer company on September 20, 2017 uses several levels an antifraud technologies to provide protection which almost in real time blocks fraudulent installations and marks suspicious actions and abnormal activities.^[1]

Protection against a fraud

According to the statement of developers, the product is capable to provide protection against recently detected type of fraud which is based on reset of the identifier of the mobile device (DeviceID). At this Protect360 not only prevents a fraud with reset of DeviceID at the level of SiteID and distinguishes fraudulent devices, but also protects users from other types of a fraud with installations of mobile applications, such as: interception of installations, cliques-fluding and attack of the intermediary (MiTM).

Data exchange in real time

Thanks to the fact that the postbeki is transferred in real time network partners stay in the know of changes that allows to reduce time expenditure by approvals between customers and contractors, at the same time excepting problems with fraud.

Reporting

Thanks to itemized statements which contain information on where and when fraud attempts were made, marketing specialists in cooperation with network partners can take pro-active measures.

Compatibility with solutions of AppsFlyer
