2022: Announcement of the apparatus for any spinal surgery

On September 27, 2022, Stryker introduced the Q Guidance for any spinal surgery, which is integrated with Spine Guidance software to enhance surgical planning and navigation capabilities.

Stryker said the Spine Guidance software, combined with Q Guidance, is a planning and intraoperative guidance system designed to facilitate open or percutaneous computer assisted surgery.

Q Guidance Spinal Surgery System

The company claims Spine Guidance is the first navigation software to receive authority approval USA to use for pediatric patients aged 13 and older.

The Q Guidance system is equipped with a 4th generation FP8000 camera that provides several optical tracking methods. These include full-spectrum hybrid optical tracking of active/passive radiation. Stryker said Q Guidance is the only navigation system with patented active technology as well as a non-invasive patient tracking device called SpineMask on the market.

Spine Guidance software features completely redesigned applications, automatic and semi-automatic processing capabilities, gesture recognition and wide functional compatibility with various image set formats, Stryker said.

The medical device company said the use of its software allows surgeons to optimize their processes, spend less time in the operating room and make complex clinical decisions intraoperatively.[1][2]
