2022: Transition to domestic software
From June 28, 2022 database , the transferred subscriber numbers (BDPN) began to work on domestic software (), ON the Research Institute of Radio database operator said. Now the transition of subscribers from one mobile operator to another will take place Russian using the software and hardware complex BDPN 2.0, the developer of which was the institute itself.
The transition went smoothly. The transfer of subscriber numbers is carried out in normal mode.
Since the creation of the BDPN in 2013, the system has been provided by a contractor from Lithuania. The idea of switching to domestic software for more than 3 years has been worked out at TsNIIS (Central Research Institute of Communications), a former operator of the BDPN, which since April 27, 2022 joined the Radio Research Institute. Based on the developments made, the BDPN team created the BDPN 2.0 software, which began to be tested with leading telecom operators in the spring of 2022. The comments identified during testing were eliminated, and the system was prepared for commissioning in a short time (initially the transition to domestic software was planned in 2023).
The transfer of BDPN to Russian software is an important task within the framework of the import substitution program. Also, for June 2022, the issue of completely replacing BDPN equipment with domestic analogues is being worked out, "said Oleg Ivanov, general director of the Radio Research Institute. |
According to him, the process is organized in such a way that users do not notice the changes at all, and for the Research Institute of Radio as a system operator, work will become more convenient - the complex can be quickly finalized on its own. The transition affected the software shell, the base management system data and. operating system The latter was replaced Windows Server Microsoft from to a freely distributed OS, which Linux will allow the Research Institute of Radio to significantly expand the functionality of the system.
The plans of the Research Institute of Radio are to create a mobile application for individuals with registration through the portal of public services, where it will be possible online to ensure the transition to another operator. In addition, the institute plans to improve business processes, due to which the period for transferring the number will be reduced to 1 day (at the end of June 2022, it is from 8 days). In the future, the service will completely go online, - said the general director of the institute. |
Also in the plans - to ensure the preservation of the subscriber number when moving to another region and the ability to move from operator to operator owners. eSim For these opportunities to become available, it is necessary to refine the regulatory framework and improve the BDP itself.
