2022: Device Announcement
On September 26, 2022, iRobot announced the first Roomba Combo j7 + retractable mop robot vacuum cleaner on the market. Sales of the device will begin on October 4, 2022.
The Roomba Combo j7 + is designed to work with carpets, rugs and hard floors, but will hopefully iRobot set it apart from the competition thanks to the ability robot to vacuum and mop in a single cleaning task. There is no need to manually attach the mop nozzle after vacuum cleaning, as this robot uses a new solution to perform both tasks.

The device comes with iRobot 5.0 OS and PrecisionVision navigation system to know exactly where the device is and what it is looking for. A robot vacuum cleaner can identify more than 80 ordinary household items, which allows owners to require them to clean certain areas, for example, around dishwashers, toilets, trays, while avoiding common dangers such as wires, shoes, and pet bowls. The developers claim the retractable mop sets it apart from rival 2-in-1 self-contained vacuum cleaners, which can cause clutter by accidentally wetting the carpet. Thanks to the use of advanced sensors, the robot is able to detect various types of floors.
Roomba Combo j7 + can control voice, about 600 voice commands are supported. This can be achieved using the iRobot app, but Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri are also supported. In order to skip a room, you just need to say a voice command or click the "Skip" button in the iRobot application.
The self-cleaning base device retails for $799.99, while the Braava jet mop robot m6 retails for $399.99 to $449.99 depending on color. Although the price of the Roomba Combo j7 + may seem big compared to the vacuum cleaner alone, on the iRobot website both items in the kit cost $1 249.98, which is a higher price without the convenience of using both items in the same device[1]
