2020: Start of sales of the bent Royole FlexPai smartphone

At the end of September, 2020 the Chinese producer Royole provided the new smartphone with the bent FlexPai 2 display. In China the preorder of the version from 8 GB of operational and 256 GB a flash memory at the price of $1470 and the version from 12 GB of the RAM and 512 GB a flash memory for $1700 was open.

The previous folding model of the smartphone produced by this company was not pleasant to public. It was criticized for clumsy design and errors softwares, but Royole decided to correct defects. According to representatives of Royole, Flexpai 2 it is 40% thinner and easier than the predecessor - it has thickness about 0.24 inches in the unrolled status and approximately on half-inch it is more in folded form. The hinge which passes along a back part of the device became one of key updates, according to developers. Royole claims that the wearproof and strong loop is capable to sustain to 1.8 million foldings.

In the unrolled status the flexible Cicada Wing OLED display of the 3rd generation has the diagonal of 7.8 inches and resolution of 1920 x 1440 pixels at an aspect ratio 4:3. In the put status the user receives two screens with a diagonal of 5.5 and 5.4 inches respectively. FlexPai 2 is constructed based on the single-crystal Snapdragon 865 system, it supports dual-mode (SA/NSA) connection 5G. Besides, the new flexible smartphone is supplied with the accumulator on 4450 mAh and the module with four cameras.

Royole FlexPai 2 works under control of waterOS 2.0 based on Android 10. The main camera has resolution of 64 megapixels, the triple optical zoom is available. For a selfie the 32-megapixel camera is used. The smartphone also received Wi-Fi Bluetooth modules 6, 5.1 GPS, A-GPS BeiDou Galileo GLONASS, USB connector 3.1 Type-C, two stereoloudspeakers and the side sensor of fingerprints.^[1]
