Start of production of mobile Miass radars

The Ruselectronics holding of State Corporation Rostec announced on December 4, 2020 start of production of mobile Miass radars for airfields of small and regional aircraft. Tests of a prototype are going to begin in the second quarter 2021.

Important feature of a complex are small dimensions and reduced weight that simplifies process of its transportation, requires small volumes design and survey and installation and construction works on site of installation.

"Investments of IDF allow to develop quickly serial production of radars and to bring a product which will significantly increase safety of air traffic to the market and will promote expansion of geography of regional transportations. Also within the project it is going to upgrade a production infrastructure of the enterprise, including – the metering and test equipment. It will create a good technology backlog for development of a product line of the enterprise and creation of the new equipment with higher characteristics" — the CEO of ChRZ told Alexander Nesterov "Weeds".

The organization of serial production of mobile radars for the regional airports

The Ruselectronics holding of State Corporation Rostec begins the organization of serial production of the mobile radar Miass complexes for the regional airports. Key feature of a system – the mode of address information exchange with the specific airplane. Such functionality facilitates air traffic control and reduces an error probability at data transmission. Rostec reported about it on July 13, 2020.

The project is implemented by the Chelyabinsk radio plant Flight (enters into Ruselectronics) together with the Fund of development of the industry which provided to the plant a loan in the amount of 320 million rubles. The general project budget – 521 million rubles. Serial production of locators will be started in 2021.

The complex is developed for airfields of small and regional aircraft. It round the clock and without presence of service staff transfers to the manager information on coordinates of aircrafts on primary channel in radius not less than 100 kilometers and on secondary – in a radius not less than 300 kilometers.

The majority of flights are within the country made with joining in Moscow, including because of absence at the regional airports of the necessary equipment. Together with Fund of development of the industry we implement the project which will allow to upgrade regional aviation infrastructure. This digital radar complex is mobile – at the expense of small dimensions and reduced weight it is rather easy to transport and unroll it. Investments of IDF will allow to start quickly serial production of development which is intended to increase significantly safety of regional air traffic, − the chief executive of Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko noted.

The radar is capable to identify the specific airplane and to communicate selectively with it thanks to the mode of the selection request and the monopulse secondary channel of observation. Reduction of dimensions and weight managed to achieve due to consolidation of antennas of primary and secondary channels in uniform construction – the implemented phased array from separate radiators.
