2019: Preliminary test of a complex for measurement of coefficient of coupling of an airfield covering with the chassis

On April 17, 2019 the Ruselectronics holding announced State Corporation Rostec the beginning of preliminary test of a complex for measurement of coefficient of coupling of an airfield covering with the chassis. The equipment helps to prepare quickly the airfield for operation and allows to prevent rolling-out of airplanes out of band limits. The cost of a complex will be several times below the foreign analogs applied at the Russian airports of civil appointment.

Rostec developed a complex for control of a status of runways

The automated complex represents the two-wheeled device with control block which is towed on a runway with a different speed. The device measures force of braking of wheels and fixes coefficient of coupling with a surface. Covering state-of-health data are transferred in the automatic mode to the operator.

The beginning of serial production of a complex is planned for the fourth quarter 2019. The equipment allows to react timely to state change of a band that guarantees safety of take off and landing of aircrafts. The similar equipment is necessary for safe operation of all airfields. So far for these purposes in the civil airports mainly foreign equipment or the domestic equipment of the 70th years is used.

The error of measurements of the Russian complex does not exceed 0.02%. Such indicator is reached thanks to use of the electronic and mechanical device of braking. The software of a complex creates archive with all results of measurements. It allows to predict an airfield status on the basis of the saved-up statistics. The equipment is developed by "Special designing and technological bureau on the relay equipment" (is a part of Ruselectronics holding).
