SAP Extended ECM by Open Text

2020: Start of sales of cloud document flow in Russia

On August 5, 2020 SAP CIS announced start of sales in Russia a portfolio of cloud solutions for document management. One of main products in this area — SAP Extended ECM by OpenText Cloud Edition.

SAP and OpenText are old partners in development and sale of solutions of the class eECM. Till this time in Russia it was possible to implement the project only at server capacities of clients, since 2020 years the Russian companies will be able to receive service as service from a cloud of vendor. It will give them the chance to leave from capital costs of purchase of a server framework, keeping of IT personnel and to begin to use the solution actually at once.

In addition to SAP Extended ECM by OpenText Cloud Edition of a portfolio of cloud solutions contains products for management and work with personnel documents, the entering accounts, etc. All of them are most integrated with SAP products, in particular with SAP S/4HANA, and are convenient for users thanks to seamless connection with the ERP system. Solutions are capable to recognize automatically documents from paper carriers and to independently enter all information into the different systems of SAP. At the same time different checks are constantly executed and also there is a training of the artificial intelligence which is responsible for recognition.

Electronic document management the storage of digital copies and their exchange between the companies, and the full-fledged systems which are actually a core of any enterprise is not simple for a long time. The number of users grows exponential, and matter not only in the current situation with transfer of employees to remote work. Even at the normal mode paper document flow incurs heavy overhead costs and slows down business processes of the companies — Yury Bondar, the deputy CEO of SAP CIS noted.

2015: Ukrainian version of SAP Extended Enterprise Content Management by OpenText (SAP Extended ECM)

In February, 2015 the SAP company announced availability of the Ukrainian version of the software solution SAP Extended Enterprise Content Management by OpenText (SAP Extended ECM) and completion of state examination in the field of information technical protection. The positive expert opinion was registered in Administration of Public service of special communication and data protection of Ukraine.

A system can be integrated with all widespread business applications, including, Microsoft Office and SAP ERP. Such built-in integration allows to save up to 30% of the project budget and to increase labor productivity of users, thanks to access to a uniform information warehouse, including, thanks to access through all widespread browsers. For example, the Belgian railroads, one of the most loaded transport systems in the world, annually save several million euros thanks to this solution. In only five years the number of the documents passing through a system increased from 2.5 million to 7.6 million that makes about 7.5 terabyte. Other large enterprise of pulp and paper industry thanks to SAP Extended ECM reduced the procedure of closing of the reporting by two weeks, provided access to corporate content for more than 18 thousand employees, having increased sweep rate of documents. Implementation of this project allowed to increase considerably labor productivity and also to provide decrease in losses and errors in documents.

2012: OpenText Extended ECM 10

The OpenText company announced in May, 2012 godao a release of the tenth version of the popular solution OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions which in addition to numerous other updates includes support of SAP applications of Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) and SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM) now. The SAP company sells this solution under the name of SAP Extended Enterprise Content Management (SAP Extended ECM) application by OpenText. For customers it represents a full-fledged ECM product which not only is successfully integrated with business processes of the systems of SAP, but also is capable to structure content in standard business situations.

With an exit of Extended ECM 10, customers of OpenText will be able to note improvement of efficiency of interaction of staff of the organization thanks to consolidation of supporting documents, such as agreements or e-mails, and accessibility to them via the single user interface SAP CRM. From the supplier of Extended ECM 10 expands functionality of the SAP Supplier Relationship Management system for more effective cooperation with the seller and content management within all processes of purchases and deliveries of the organization.

When using in the Extended ECM 10 organizations meets mandatory requirements of records management and document storage. For example, the new version underwent certification of the Ministry of Defence 5015.2 on document flow for the SAP solutions in February, 2012. Since 2007, Extended ECM was the only product for conducting document flow offering archiving in combination with SAP solutions.
