Start of online application of SAP Sales OD designates sharp turn in development of products of SAP company. The last more than 20 years the SAP company released the products intended only for installation and operation in the enterprises. Now the SAP company obviously aims at only arising, but very perspective market of the applications provided on demand. Historically leaders of this market are such services as Salesforce.com (an on-line CRM system with support of collective work) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM (The CRM system offering local, on-line and hybrid deployment).
At first the SAP company is going to sell Sales OD in the form of separate service without integration with local solutions of SAP and with a packet of SAP Business ByDesign. Further – approximately in 2012 – the full integration with other SAP products is planned. It is necessary to remind that the packet of Sales OD filled up still few family of online SAP products – ByD (Business ByDesign), Sourcing On-demand (Supply on demand), Streamwork and Carbon Impact. After Sales OD until the end of 2011 Travel On-demand services (logistics management) and Career On-demand (personnel management) should be started.
The main advantage of SAP Sales OD for March, 2011 is that the SAP product is initially created counting upon collective work on sales in sales office. It turns out that it not adding of functions of collective work in old tools, and new, focused on collective work, the instrument of sales. The additional convenience of collective work is provided by the built-in functions for access to storages of business information, analytical tools and other components without which the modern CRM system cannot just do.
