2022: Announcement of Russian satellite communication stations for GLONASS and GPS military bases

In mid-August 2022, Roselektronika presented satellite communication stations of the Centauri family, developed in the interests of law enforcement agencies, rapid response structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The equipment was developed by the SPC, which is part of the holding.

According to the press service of Rostec (Roselectronics is part of this state corporation), the presented equipment is automatically aimed at relay satellites without using signals from global navigation satellite systems in a difficult interference situation.

The new product line includes the Ku-band Centaurus-NA-1.2 automobile station and the rapidly deployable C-band Centaurus-NP-1.65 transported station. For the operation of the device, domestic and foreign relay satellites located in geostationary orbit are used.

The design of the stations allows changing the operating frequency range in 10 minutes due to the reinstallation of irradiation and radio frequency equipment. "Centaurs" are equipped with broadband modems and provide data reception at speeds up to 54 Mbps, and transmission - up to 8 Mbps.

According to Anatoly Popovich, General Director of the SPC, the new stations of the Centauri family are designed to quickly provide high-speed and noise-proof satellite communication channels at stops and parking lots. The equipment, according to him, is able to interest not only special customers - the products can be used to organize video conferencing channels during research and geological exploration, to provide communication for mobile laboratories and repair teams. The stations have various delivery options, and can also be equipped with additional equipment for quick change of the C-, X- and Ku-bands, he noted.[1]
