2020: Announcement of Sabre Smart Retail Engine
On November 9, 2020 the Sabre Corporation company announced an exit of the first product based on the Sabre Travel AI technology created in partnership with Google. This product allowed to optimize development of the smart scalable engine for retail based on artificial intelligence technologies (AI) and opportunities of machine learning (ML).
According to the company, the first official release of Sabre Smart Retail Engine is planned at the beginning of 2021.
Sabre Smart Retail Engine is a product which integrates technological capabilities of Sabre in the field of dynamic management of offers and customer segmentations and the checked solution of Google for merchandising. Such combination of technologies will allow to use data on purchases in real time, available content and models of decision support based on AI/ML for fast testing of hypotheses and formation of the most optimal personalized offers.
These package offers will be able to include different additional services: from the choice of places in a cabin and paid baggage to content of third-party suppliers, including car rental and accommodation in hotels. The cost of these offers will form on the basis of the dynamic pricing determined by customer segmentation methods.
The expanded product portfolio of Sabre for management of offers will include the instruments of pricing and revenue management integrated with cloud solutions on search of air tickets and existence of places which support omnichannel approach, including distribution according to the NDC standard.
Among key components of a portfolio there is Sabre for management of offers:
- Intellectual decision support: the pricing based on data from the traveler and market conditions in real time.
- Relevance of existence of services: a uniform product catalog, additional services and content of third-party suppliers, available in a cloud environment.
- The search engine of the next generation which provides the relevant and personalized offers in real time.
- The engine for retail based on machine learning which accelerates testing of products in the experimental environment and allows to create the personalized offers.
- Ensuring omnichannel: development of technologies for management of offers supports distribution in forward and indirect channels.
The Sabre Travel AI technology announced in October, 2020 uses developments of Google in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, allowing to provide quickly most relevant and personalized content meeting needs of travelers. Sabre Travel AI works at Google Cloud technologies which will recognize, analyze and predict a consumer behavior, using information on purchases in real time and complex industry data.
The Sabre Smart Retail Engine engine was created quicker thanks to strategic partnership of Sabre and Google.
Sabre is going to implement Sabre Travel AI in all the products for omnichannel retail, distribution and rendering of services, including solutions for merchandising, information on existence of places, pricings, revenue managements and GDS services over time. As it was noted earlier, Sabre plans official start of Sabre Smart Retail Engine at the beginning of 2021 with the subsequent announcement of additional products.
