2024: Selection of seven projects for the formation of laboratories
On January 23, 2024, Siberian State Medical University (SibGMU) named seven projects for the formation of SibMed.Lab. They will help to obtain results in priority research areas within the framework of ongoing strategic initiatives.
It is noted that seven projects were selected from 17 applications. The winners of the competition will receive grants with a project implementation period of up to two years. The total planned cost is estimated at 150 million rubles. As of the end of January 2024, the amount of grants that will be allocated for the implementation of each of the laboratory projects has not been approved. At the same time, it is known that the costs for each of the directions should not exceed 20 million rubles in 2024 and 2 million rubles in 2025.
The approved projects included laboratories of molecular medicine, molecular and cellular pharmacology, neuropsychiatry, basic and applied morphological research, intracellular signaling engineering, cultured cell biology, and cardiorespiratory diagnostics. The goal is to conduct advanced research with the involvement of students in science and project activities.
Details about the two projects are revealed. It is noted that employees of the laboratory of molecular medicine will search for molecular cell biomarkers as indicators and predictors of pathology (cardiovascular, immune, tumor), which is based on inflammation and impaired angiogenesis. In turn, specialists from the intracellular signal engineering laboratory will focus on studying the functional activity of cells in normal and pathological conditions. This will help in the development of new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system, brain brain and kidneys.[1]
