2022: Adding the ability to mark all significant objects in the modeling environment

The company Sitronics KT and the company included in it Stéor on February 18, 2022 announced the creation of a platform for the development of technology for keyless navigation by computer modeling. The solution is intended for testing virtual navigation in the environment of MHF equipment in both normal and emergency conditions, as well as training of operators of marine autonomous vessels. During the work on the project, additional functions have been developed.

Now in the solution, all significant objects of the modeling environment can be marked. Their name, distance to them are displayed, and speed and course are indicated for mobile objects. The function of displaying the courses of oncoming ships and the point of intersection of trajectories, taking into account the speed of movement, is presented.

The mode of illumination of dangerous navigation areas will indicate them taking into account the model of the vessel. The relief of the bottom and sediment of the vessel, which changes from loading, is taken into account. This mode allows you to clearly see whether the autonomous vessel takes into account dangerous areas when building the route or not: it will run aground or not.

All functions in a virtual environment are implemented as separate layers. Depending on the format of the platform, you can include the necessary elements. For example, when learning, all layers are turned on to learn how to read the situation. In the exam, all prompts can be turned off - the data comes only from the devices.

The creation of a platform for modeling non-ship navigation contributes to the acceleration of the development of autonomous shipping. This is one of the important elements of the system used in the creation of autonomous vessels. The added functions allow you to show auxiliary information clearly, reducing the time for visual analysis and comparison of the picture with the readings of the devices, "commented Andrey Rodionov, General Director of Sitronics KT.

In addition, multiple participants can now interact in the same space. These can be either separately connected bridge systems or models of autonomous ships. This function is used to check the actions of the test vessel in case of intersection of the trajectory with other vessels or objects.

2021: Virtual Environment Preview for Open Technology Platform

Sitronics KT, a subsidiary of Sitronics Group, is creating a platform for the development of technology for keyless navigation by computer modeling. This was announced on July 8, 2021 by Sitronics. The solution is designed to provide vessels with a system of keyless driving, testing in a virtual environment, as well as training operators of marine autonomous vessels.

During the project, the company developed and demonstrated a preliminary version of the virtual environment for an open technological platform - a tool for creating promising commercial technologies, solutions, improving the regulatory framework in the field of scientific and technological, innovative development of autonomous and unmanned systems. For July 2021, analytical models of marine radio engineering complexes and a virtual model of the vessel's movement were also developed.

The platform, developed by Sitronics KT and its member company Stéor, solves several problems at once and can be used both for testing and as an educational environment. Shipbuilding and shipowning companies will be able to use it to conduct safe tests of marine autonomous vessels (MANS) in a virtual environment, simulate and predict situations. The platform will also make it possible to conduct an effective check of the MANS in real conditions when entering the port and when carrying out maneuvers in its water area. An important purpose of the system is training and certification of personnel working with marine autonomous vessels, as well as certification of equipment for MANS.

The creation of a platform for modeling non-ship navigation contributes to the acceleration of the development of autonomous shipping. This is one of the important elements of the system used in the creation of autonomous vessels. The development already allows you to simulate the behavior of ships and conduct training for employees, for this demonstration simulators have been created. In the future, the platform being developed will be supplemented with autonomous control simulators and will become a kind of virtual environment for machine learning of other unmanned systems, "commented Andrey Rodionov, CEO of Sitronics KT.
