2021: Start using Skinive.MD to diagnose skin diseases in Belarusian medical institutions
On March 30, 2021, it became known about the beginning of the use of the Skinive.MD service in Belarusian medical institutions, designed for diagnosing skin diseases from photographs.
In particular, the decision was introduced in the Vitebsk Regional Dispensary of Sports Medicine and the Mogilev Regional Oncological Dispensary. More than 10 medical institutions of Minsk, Vitebsk, Grodno, Brest regions, including Borisovskaya, Miorskaya, Polotsk and Volkovysk central district hospitals, also expressed their consent to participate in the project. They became interested in the project of the polyclinic Orsha and Baranovichi, as well as small outpatient clinics in their composition, the press service of the High Technology Park, whose resident is the company Weiss Hey Ai, which developed Skinive.MD.
Doctors with the consent of the patient will be able to take photos of skin diseases that the neural network will treat in less than 30 seconds. The Skinive algorithm is trained on the basis of more than 130 thousand images with confirmed diagnoses. Thanks to computer vision and machine learning, a virtual dermatologist identifies suspicious neoplasms. Artificial intelligence provides several options for pre-trial detention and will offer recommendations.
According to the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology Viktor Spiridonov, the center's specialists will actively use the development of Belarusian programmers for the early diagnosis of an aggressive form of cancer - melanoma.
About 100 cases of melanoma are recorded annually in the region. With the help of a mobile application working with cloud technologies, it is possible to more accurately determine the nature of neoplasms on the skin and prescribe appropriate treatment, "he said. |
Skinive.MD is also planned to be used in Russian private clinics.[1]
2019
Integration into Doctor Smart Skin Scoring
On August 13, 2019, the Doctor Smart service announced the launch of the service - skin scoring based on AI. Users can scan their moles (pigment nevi) in a few seconds by uploading a photo to the application. The neural network will analyze the picture and prepare a conclusion whether the formation is dangerous. The partner of the service was the Skinive AI project. More details here.
Opportunities
The principle of operation of Skinive AI is based on entrepreneurial artificial intelligence and computer vision.
As of August 2019, Skinive AI provides the following skin checks:
- 6 types of acne
- Benign formations (moles, angioma, dermatofirbromae, etc.)
- Papilloma virus (warts, papiloma, mollusks, etc.)
- Precancerous formations (blue and dysplastic nevus, keratosis, etc.)
- Skin cancer (melanoma, BCC, CCC, etc.)
It is enough for the user to provide Skinive AI with a photo of the formation that needs to be checked. After that, the neural network will do its analysis and look for the similarity of visual signs (according to the principles of medical dermatoscopy) with thousands of clinical cases of skin neoplasms.
