2021: Roman Abramovich ordered the construction of a 145-meter yacht for £430 million

At the end of February 2021, it became known that the owner of Chelsea Roman Abramovich ordered the construction of a new superyacht worth £430 million, which will soon be launched. Its length will be 145 meters, and this yacht will be the largest support vessel.

Solaris is an expeditionary motor yacht with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure with teak wood decks. Two Azipod high-tech engines provide excellent ship maneuverability. The yacht includes a swimming pool, elevator, helipad, gym, jacuzzi, as well as a hangar for helicopters and a garage for accompanying ships. It is known that the ship will have at least eight decks with 48 cabins, capable of accommodating 36 guests, as well as 60 crew members.

Solaris is a support vessel that transports tenders, small vessels or submarines, diving equipment, or takes on helicopters. Usually such yachts are built in addition to the main vessels, but in recent years the demand has been growing and some sail only on them, and not on the main boats. According to a Forbes source, two Airbus ACH145 helicopters registered under the names M-Solo & M-Sola were ordered for the yacht.

This is the seventh superyacht ordered by Abramovich. The ship is being built at the German shipyard Lloyd Werft - in the same place for Abramovich they built the 115-meter expeditionary yacht Luna in 2010, which he subsequently sold to billionaire Farhad Akhmedov. According to The Sun, the decoration of the ship by the end of February 2021 continues.

A source told The Sun that "it will be the yacht of the year, the largest and most exclusive." To give an idea of the size of Solaris, the source said that the canopy for the construction of the yacht rises above Buckingham Palace.

Solaris, of course, will be the largest and most exclusive water explorer. There are no other such courts of support, and it is unlikely that they will appear in the near future. Even royal families in the Middle East do not have such, "said Dmitry Semenikhin, founder of Yacht Harbour, in an interview with Forbes.[1]
