2023: Start using robots
At the end of August 2023 Brazilian startup Solinftec , he announced the start of deliveries agricultural of the Solix AG Robotics robotic system, whose tasks include increasing yields, controlling pests and weeds, as well as improving the financial performance of agricultural companies.
The platform is based on artificial intelligence and machine vision technologies. The robot moves around the field on four wheels, collecting information about the state of crops and plant development. Solix AG Robotics is said to be able to control all types of crops, including soybeans, corn, sugarcane, onions, potatoes and tomatoes. Solar panels power the system throughout the day without significant downtime.
In addition, the robot is capable of purposefully spraying herbicides. This is said to reduce the consumption of such substances by about 95% compared to conventional agricultural processes. Thus, agronomists are able to save a significant part of the money. The system can also destroy pests with electrical discharges.
Solinftec says Solix AG Robotics is the first robotic complex developed for large-scale agriculture. Like other precision farming technologies such as drones and satellite imagery, the system is designed to help food producers reduce waste and improve operational efficiency. The cost of the robot is approximately $50 thousand. In 2023, Solinftec plans to ship 40 copies, and in 2024 to increase deliveries to 250 units. It is said that at two enterprises in the USA and Brazil, Solinftec can theoretically produce up to 1600 such complexes annually.[1]
