2025: Production Launch
On February 19, 2025, it became known that the Sova Motors company, which is part of the Lanit holding, began mass production of the Sova 25 electric van in the Alabuga special economic zone. The car received a full set of permits for operation on public roads.
According to CNews, the electric van has a total weight of 2.5 tons and a cargo compartment of 5.1 cubic meters. m. The cost of the car is ₽4,5 million.
Sova 25 specifications:

- The maximum speed is 90 km/h.
- The range is 200 km.
- Fast charging time up to 50% - 30 minutes.
- Lifting capacity - 995 kg.

The car features two charging interfaces: GB/T DC for fast charging and GB/T AC for night charging. The manufacturer provides a five-year warranty for the battery and power unit, as well as a three-year warranty for a car with a mileage limit of 150 thousand km.
The company plans to produce up to 10 thousand electric vans per year with the normalization of the economic situation. The main buyers should be medium and large businesses.
General Director of Sova Motors Konstantin Shirokov confirms that the car has been finalized for the needs of the Russian market with the participation of Russian and Chinese component manufacturers. The electric rear axle comes from China.
The new electric van is designed to compete with traditional commercial cars such as the Gazelle and UAZ SGR (Loaf). The manufacturer highlights the lower cost of ownership compared to internal combustion-powered cars.
There are no plans to release hybrid versions of the Sova 25 in the near future. The company will focus on developing an all-electric version of the van.[1]
