Recall that in August 2021, the Russian government approved the concept for the development of the production and use of electric transport in the country until 2030. The transport strategy with a forecast until 2035 also outlined the priority of state support for equipment with a high environmental class and, first of all, equipment operating on electric traction.
Against this background, the first Russian electric trucks began to enter the market. So, for example, in 2022, GAZ began small-scale production of the electric version of the GAZelle van - GAZelle e-NN. And in 2023, the Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus company in Moscow launched mass production of EVM Pro electric trucks.
The growing interest in electric transport in general and in electric trucks, in particular, in Russia is keeping pace with the global trend. Previously, all key world truck manufacturers announced plans to develop this direction.
