If we talk about the markets of the Middle East or Africa, in particular, there is not such an advanced infrastructure as in Russia. "We are able to close all their needs without problems," notes Andrey Golov. However, there is not enough "brand and support," unlike the Chinese, who also actively operate in these regions in various industries. Read more here.

The president of the Lanit group of companies, Philippe Gens, became the owner of 84.15% of the authorized capital of the Security Code, TAdviser was told in Lanit on December 20, 2019.
10% remained with Pyotr Efimov, co-founder of the Informzaschita Group of Companies, of which the Security Code was allocated in 2008. 5% belongs to Alla Golova, financial director of Security Code and wife of the general director of this company Andrei Golova.
0.85% belongs to Galina Bokova, who since 2017 has still been listed as the owner of 85% of the Security Code. Who she is is unknown. Lanita and Security Code refuse to talk about the previous owner of the share, which went to Philip Gens.
Forbes magazine in 2016 wrote that after 2008, Informzaschita had a cash gap, which was helped by a strategic investor, founder of Lanit Georgy Gens, Philip's father, who died in the spring of 2018. TAdviser sources also repeatedly said that Gens Sr. may have been the beneficiary of the "Security Code," but he himself [2] denied this in an interview with TAdviser.
We have a lot of joint projects with them... I have been friends with Peter Efimov for many, many years, - said Gens Sr., explaining the rumors about him as a co-owner of Informzaschita and Security Code |
Philip Gens, commenting on joining the founders of the Security Code, calls the company one of the leaders in the information security market and a promising asset. The company, he said, "shows excellent results, has an established professional team, rich experience in implementing large federal projects and great potential."

In connection with the change of ownership, Lanita's cooperation with the Security Code will become closer in terms of the development and promotion of the products of both companies, including in the international market. The parties expect that the deal will lead to "economies of scale, as well as profit growth due to cross-sales."
The arrival of Philip Gens will help the company in international expansion and improvement of corporate governance, and its products will be more widely used in the projects of the Lanit group, hopes Andrei Golov.
In 2018, in an interview with TAdviser , the CEO of Security Code predicted that in five years the company's revenue from Russian and foreign customers would be divided in a proportion of 50 to 50, and its total volume would reach $150 million.
At the same time, the Security Code will remain an independent company and will not become part of the Lanit group, its representative said. No personnel changes and changes related to the management structure are planned. The company's relationship with partners and customers will also remain unchanged.

The Russian market for information protection tools reacted to the systematic policy of the state to increase attention to information security issues. I also want to note that more and more organizations trust the protection of their infrastructure not to foreign producers, but to domestic ones. And often this is not done according to regulatory requirements, but on their own initiative. This is a positive trend that is positively assessed by all domestic information security specialists, Fyodor Dbar, Commercial Director of Security Code

Entering Middle East and African markets
On October 17, the Security Code announced its entry into the foreign market: for foreign expansion, the company chose a model for forming technological alliances. In October, an agreement was signed on cooperation with the provider of information security solutions in the regions of the Middle East and Africa. Previously, the company began working in Latin America, where it created a local development partner.
Prerequisites
Among the prerequisites for going abroad is the presence of many information security products successfully operating in Russia. At the same time, the dynamics of the Russian information security market, according to company representatives, is constrained by negative economic factors. At the same time, the domestic segment of the end device protection market is close to saturation.
Start of expansion abroad
Security Code began interacting with foreign partners in 2015 - then KOD Latam Security was created in Uruguay, which develops local products based on Security Code technologies and adapts them to Latin American customers. The main clients of KOD Latam Security are government and power structures, transport companies, and the financial sector.
Entering Middle East and African markets
To work in the Middle East and Africa, the Security Code chose a different business model: the manufacturer entered into a cooperation agreement with the provider of information security solutions Al Hosani Computer LLC (UAE), which became the company's authorized distributor in the region.
Through Al Hosani Computer LLC, customers in the region will be able to purchase three flagship Security Code products that cover the full range of endpoint and virtual infrastructure security needs:
- Secret Net Studio is a comprehensive solution for protecting workstations and servers at the data, application, network, operating system, and peripheral hardware levels.
- vGate is a solution for protecting virtualization platforms based on VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Secret MDM is a product for managing corporate mobility and protecting data on mobile devices from the cloud or in your own infrastructure.
The Security Code complex of solutions meets the legislative requirements of the countries of the Middle East region in the field of information security, as well as modern international standards for the protection of information systems in such areas as identification and authentication, access control, anti-virus protection, detection and prevention of intrusions, device control, security event monitoring.
Concept of superimposed security
The joint work of Security Code and Al Hosani Computer LLC will allow key consumers in the Middle East and Africa to get acquainted with the concept of superimposed security that underlies the manufacturer's products. The essence of the concept is to create trusted systems in an untrusted environment. The vendor helps the customer to build a protection system independent of foreign IT, which fully controls the data and ensures that no leakage occurs.
Brand Update
According to the company, the renewal of corporate identity is due to the need to reflect the changes that have occurred in the company in recent years, as well as the growth of the scale of tasks implemented in close partnership with participants in the information security market.
Visual attributes began to transform in 2015, when "Security Code," in an effort to strengthen the perception of the company as a Russian player in the information security market, introduced the images of Russian folklore characters symbolizing protection and strength into the corporate identity. National heroes - heroes - and their protective attributes - shields, helmets, chain mail, etc. - became symbols of the products of the "Safety Code." The changes that took place were positively received by the market and have now received a logical continuation.
The updated logo highlights the Russian origin of the company. The sign is perceived as a fragment of the "heroic" protective attribute - chain mail - and reflects the readiness to respond to new challenges, interest in harmonizing the interaction of four key aspects of the security sphere: vendor, customer, regulator, partner. The desire to move together towards a common goal is visually realized in the form of a closed chain of four rings.
In addition, the sign highlights the company's willingness to provide comprehensive data protection. The second symbolic message of the four "faces" of the logo is to represent the four areas of security provided by the company's products: network interaction, workstations and servers, virtual infrastructure, mobile devices.

"Security Code" announces the launch of the "Responsible Disclosure Policy"
Security Code announced in June 2016 the launch of a program aimed at interacting with researchers in the field of information protection. The Responsible disclosure policy is designed to establish the procedure for the developer and external information security specialists to act when a vulnerability is detected in any Security Code product.
The approach, when a researcher notifies only the software manufacturer when a vulnerability is detected, allows the developer to protect users and release fixes before the vulnerability begins to be massively exploited by attackers. The result of the regulated interaction between the developer and the external information security specialist is an increase in the speed of the company's response to incidents, the quality of products and, ultimately, the level of customer security.
For the "Security Code," engaging users and researchers to test products at the beta launch stage is standard practice. In particular, a successful example of such interaction was the beta testing of the product for protecting workstations and servers Secret Net Studio. In three months, more than 800 specialists were able to get acquainted with its capabilities, whose wishes and comments were taken into account when finalizing the product. One of the results was the timely detection and elimination of a vulnerability in the product, due to which the problem was fixed in the final version of Secret Net Studio.
"Early detection of a vulnerability is beneficial for everyone - both the customer and the developer: this allows you to adjust the product life cycle, quickly respond to an incident, and provide users with a product update in time. The regulation of relations between the company and independent experts and organizations in the field of information security strengthens interaction with both the information security community and regulators. Many foreign manufacturers are following this path, and Security Code is glad to join the generally accepted practice, "said Dmitry Zryachykh, technical director of Security Code.
