2021: Start selling a device for automatic parking in Moscow without a parking lot and a smartphone

In July 2021, mobile operator Tele2 began selling the Smart Parking device, designed to automatically pay for parking in Moscow.

Equipped with a Tele2 SIM card, the device uses artificial intelligence - it itself will determine that the car has got into paid parking - and will automatically turn on the payment, and when leaving the parking lot, also without the intervention of the driver, it will stop debiting money. Payment will not turn on if the car is in traffic on a lane with parking spaces: then the system will determine that the owner of the gadget does not park.

The cost of Smart Parking is about 4 thousand rubles. He pays for parking at the rates of the GKU "Administrator of the Moscow parking space" (AMPP) - 40-380 rubles, depending on the time of day and the parking zone. For the correct operation of the device, it is necessary to replenish the personal account of the Tele2 SIM card, from where parking will be paid, the company representative Daria Kolesnikova told Vedomosti. The history of parking sessions can be tracked in the Moscow Parking application.

With the help of a new device, the client will save a lot: not only will he receive a delivery in unspent minutes, but he will also be able to avoid the costs of fines for unpaid parking, tow truck work and placing the car in the parking lot, "Kolesnikova says, noting that the parking gadget can attract subscribers of other operators who do not yet have such a service.

How many devices the company plans to sell and how it will share the proceeds from paying for parking with AMPP is still unknown. The commission to the operator can be up to 5%, said a newspaper source close to one of the mobile companies.

According to Tele2's own research, 37% of drivers in Moscow regularly forget to complete a parking session. Tele2 plans to add new functions to the device: consulting drivers, delivering gasoline, calling a specialist to replace wheels or calling a free tow truck.[1][2]
