Teradata 700

Two whales of the market of business and analytical solutions on behalf of Teradata and SAS combined efforts and on April 22, 2012 presented joint integrated solution. It includes the specialized hardware and software system Teradata 700 for the SAS High-Performance Analytics platform and, respectively, the analytical SAS High-Performance Analytics platform for Teradata. The solution is constructed based on architecture of in-memory that allows in systems with the large volume of memory due to parallel processing of data streams quickly to process information arrays and to detect in them the hidden patterns.

Possibilities of high-speed analytics visually illustrate implementation project deliverables which are given by Teradata. The task for whose solution the whole week was spent earlier, takes away no more than two minutes now. However, who exactly acts as the customer of Teradata does not open. Obviously, so impressive gain of performance will not be possible to receive far on all tasks, however a precedent in itself impressive.

Teradata – the famous player of the market of a business intelligence, the company traditionally preferred to create the solutions for data warehouses focused on accomplishment of a certain narrow class of tasks. Not one decade in this business and SAS company which is considered one of softwares of statistical analysis of data, best in a segment. Recently it focused on the technologies of predictive analytics which added a stack of its BI solutions. "Marriage of convenience" with Teradata is of interest to SAS, first of all, because allows to enter the perspective market of solutions in-memory.
