Teradata IntelliFlex

The Teradata IntelliFlex platform is an architecture of MPP (mass parallel processing of data). Its structure on the basis of a matrix provides multidimensional scalability that allows the companies to increase independently performance of processing and capacity of storages according to the current and future business needs. The configuration with the large volume of memory for accomplishment of the powerful calculations in RAM and high density packaging focused on a data processing center is presented in the solution.

IntelliFlex is also focused on work with a data processing center, providing more dense use of blocks (i.e. more cores of the CCP, are more than memory, there is more space for hot data) that simplifies process of repeated placement in racks and by that provides more flexible component placement in DPC.

2016: Teradata IntelliFlex upgrade

On September 14, 2016 the Teradata corporation announced upgrade of Teradata IntelliFlex according to development of functionality of a DB of Teradata Database.

The Teradata Database database completely uses possibilities of the Teradata IntelliFlex platform providing independent scaling of computing power and capacity for data storage, use of technology of calculations in RAM and reduction of idle times at expansion of a system.

Teradata planned development of functionality of the platform as a part of which:

• the doubled specific productivity with a possibility of installation to 12 nodes in each body
• twice bigger amount of memory — to 1 TB on a node
• configurations on solid state drives for minimization of time for request processing

For September 14, 2016 the IntelliFlex platform is available to the order, additional functions will appear not earlier than the fourth quarter 2016, the developer company stated.
