2019: Apex One updating

The Trend Micro Incorporated company in April, 2019 updated Apex One — the automated universal solution ensuring safety of end devices.

2018: Apex One is expanded OfficeScan option

On October 22, 2018 the Trend Micro company announced improvement of the offer on security of workstations. The product which underwent rebranding and received the name Trend Micro Apex One sets, according to the developer, the high level of security of workstations thanks to a wide range of possibilities, available through uniform the software agent managed from a local network or within SaaS infrastructure. The solution is proposed by a simple way to increase in efficiency of automatic detection and response to difficult threats and also provides up-to-date information about a protection status.

Renaming is caused by a large number of basic improvements. So, thanks to the improved EDR tool (Endpoint Detection and Respons) and MDR service (Managed Detection and Response) the solution allows to make careful investigations of threats and to perform the centralized monitoring of all network. In particular, Apex One registers actions at the level of a system and creates reports for operational assessment of character and scale of the attack.

According to the statement of the developer, Trend Micro Apex One offers customers the following three key features:

• Automatic detection and reaction: Apex One is developed on the basis of the security technology of XGen representing a combination of functions of protection of different generations and providing intellectual use of the necessary technology at the right time. Thanks to the alliance Zero Day Initiative operating under the auspices of Trend Micro, the product provides operational virtual patches for vulnerabilities and also technology of protection against threats and difficult attacks, such as bezfaylovy malicious code.
• Providing up-to-date information: Apex One offers enhanced capabilities of detection and response to threats (EDR) at workstations. The service of remote-controlled detection and reaction of Trend Micro (MDR) is in addition offered, providing to teams of specialists support in fight against threats and monitoring of warnings.
• Complexity of the solution: Apex One offers a wide range of possibilities, offered within a uniform software agent. In particular, it is the multifunction EDR Apex One system including the automated instruments of detection and reaction simplifying processes of deployment and eliminating blind zones.

The form factor of a product available from November, 2018, in the form of a uniform software agent, according to the statement of the developer, simplifies process of deployment and at the same time meets modern safety requirements. Apex One represents expanded option of the existing product Trend Micro OfficeScan; current users of OfficeScan will receive Apex One as regular updating without additional surcharges; some functions, for example, function of investigation of EDR, will demand acquisition of the additional license, noted in Trend Micro.

2014: OfficeScan 10.6 received the FSTEC certificate

On February 3, 2014 the Mikro's Trend company announced obtaining the FSTEC certificate on the Russified software package OfficeScan 10.6 - the product of protection of workstations, notebooks and servers combining functions of an antivirus, the firewall and means of protecting from invasions.

The certificate of conformity of FSTEC No. 3006, certifies that the software package OfficeScan 10.6 performs functions of an intrusion detection system, means of antivirus protection and the firewall according to requirements of regulating documents: "Requirements to intrusion detection systems" (FSTEC of Russia, 2012) – on the 4th class of protection, "The requirement to means of antivirus protection" (FSTEC of Russia, 2012) – on the 4th class of protection and also conforms to requirements of the regulating document "Computer aids. Firewalls. Protection against unauthorized access to information. Security indicators from unauthorized access to information" (State Technical Commission of Russia, 1997) – on the 4th class of security.

2011: Trend Micro OfficeScan 10.6

2010: OfficeScan 10.5
