2024: Start of engine blade production PD-8

The United Engine Corporation has begun production of blades for the PD-8 engine that withstand especially high loads. The parts are made in the innovative foundry complex of the Rybinsk enterprise "UEC-Saturn" from heat-resistant nickel splices created together with scientists from VIAM. In total, within the framework of cooperation with the Kurchatov Institute Research Center - VIAM (All-Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials), five new alloys were developed for the manufacture of a number of engine elements PD-8 for a short-haul SJ-100 aircraft, including high-load working and nozzle blades of low and high pressure turbines.

The created alloys meet all world standards in terms of chemical stability, residual level of impurities and mechanical properties.

Any engine is, first of all, the result of scientific research and discoveries. The developed casting alloys made it possible to realize the characteristics laid down by the designers in the power plant. I note that it was possible to introduce new materials into the production of blanks of blades without rebuilding the production chain. In the future, these alloys, capable of withstanding the necessary loads, can be used when working on new samples of gas turbine engines, - said Igor Ilyin, chief engineer of UEC-Saturn.

2022: Creation of self-propelled guns for the engine PD-8

The United Engine Corporation Rostec has created an automatic control system (ACS) for the PD-8 aircraft engine, which is planned to equip the SSJ-NEW passenger airliner. Equipment monitoring the operation of the power plant, including traction parameters and fuel consumption, is assembled on the basis of 100% of Russian components and materials.
