2019: Start of service

On June 5, 2019 it became known of start of the helicopter taxi by Uber company. The Uber Copter service will earn in New York on July 9. The cost of trips is known — from $200 to $225 counting on one person.

As the head of flight projects of Uber Eric Allison told the The New York Times edition, trips by helicopters will be available later not only in New York, but also other cities. He did not call expansion terms.

As Bloomberg from documents, work-related Uber Copter became known, by the beginning of June, 2019 service passes test: flights are made between the helipad of Manhattan near Wall Street and John F. Kennedy International Airport. By air the trip takes only 8 minutes while on the car this distance can be overcome for an hour, and in case of traffic jams — in two hours.

According to news agency, for launch of the helicopter Uber taxi it will be available only to the participants of the loyalty program of the company having the highest statuses Platinum and Diamond. They will be able to order trips to the near future or in advance — a maximum in five days. Each helicopter accomodates up to five passengers, and service prices will depend on demand in the region and other factors, as in a case with automobile service Uber. Pilots should welcome passengers a phrase: "Hello, welcome to Uber Copter".

At the end of May, 2019 it became known of plans of " Yandex.taxi " to start services of helicopter transportations in Moscow. It is supposed that at the first stage the flying vehicles will ply between MKAD and the Moscow region, and further take-off platforms will be created closer to the Garden Ring. In the long term the authorities of Moscow do not exclude integration of the helicopter taxi into the system of capital public transport.^[1]
