2024: Entering service

On January 8, 2025, it became known that the engineering troops of the Central Military District received the first batch of Uran-6 multifunctional robotic demining systems. Robotic complexes entered service with the engineering and assault units of the Center group of forces.

Robotic demining systems "Uranus-6" entered service in the Russian army

According to CNews, the new complexes are light armored vehicles with remote control, designed to make passages in minefields and clear the area of explosive objects, including anti-personnel mines.

Developers from JSC "Special Design Bureau of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation" equipped the complex with five replaceable tools: striker, roller and milling trawls, bulldozer dump and mechanical grip. This arrangement ensures efficient operation on various types of soil.

"Uranus-6" overcomes the moat

The design of the Uranus-6 allows you to overcome vertical obstacles up to one meter high and ditches up to one and a half meters wide. Thanks to its low profile and center of gravity, the robot is capable of working on climbs, slopes and skewers with a slope of up to 20 degrees.

The complex is controlled at a distance of up to 800 meters. The system is equipped with four video cameras for all-round viewing. The robot is capable of neutralizing detected ammunition by physical destruction or controlled detonation.

Low center of gravity "Uranus-6" allows to overcome ascents

The manufacturer of the complex - JSC "Special Design Bureau of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation" - specializes in the development of autonomous mobile robotic systems, remotely controlled combat modules and machine vision systems. The company has its own production base and engineering and design center.

The Central Military District, which received the new complexes, is the largest military district in Russia, uniting troops in 29 regions of the country. Since February 2023, the district has been commanded by Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev. The Central Military District includes two combined arms armies, the Air Force and Air Defense Command, as well as military bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.[1]
