VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite offers a uniform look and understanding of virtual environment that allows to execute optimization on all network, computing nodes and storages. Integration with EMC VNX Connector for VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite will integrate functionality of VNX storages with opportunities of VMware vCenter Operations, such as the intuitive configured panels with broad functionality, the warning signals and the patented analytical means.
Key features of vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.0
- Combination of key metrics of performance in a total quantity of points for the data-center (CPU, memory, disk, contention performance).
- Display of the main metrics of "health" of virtual infrastructure and its efficiency in terms of performance.
- vCenter Operations calculates the range of values which is within admissible performance, and highlights deviations from this range.
- Graphical representation of infrastructure in the context of performance with a possibility of "fall" to separate components.
- Information display about changes in hierarchy of virtual infrastructure then vCenter Operations shows how these changes affected performance of different objects. For example, if the virtual machine moved at the expense of vMotion between hosts of VMware ESX/ESXi, vCenter Operations will show us as load of a host servers changed.
- Detection of the applications working in virtual machines and automatic recognition of their components using the built-in knowledge base (Application Component Knowledge Base).
- Map development of interrelations of services to virtual infrastructure at the level of corporate applications which allows to perform monitoring and problem solving for the principal logical components of the systems consisting of several virtual machines.
- Simplification of creation of the multimachine vApp configurations for different divisions of the company + support of configurations of VMware of SRM for the integrated control over plans of disaster recovery.

2014
VMware vRealize Operations 6.0
On October 14, 2014 the VMware company provided a new product for management of cloud environments - VMware vRealize Operations 6.0 - intellectual processes from applications to data warehouses (earlier the product was called VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite).
VMware vRealize Operations 6.0 provides intellectual management for physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures, using predictive analytics and automation based on the politician. VMware vRealize Operations 6.0 is the important product update working at a basis of new scalable and steady architecture which provides in eight times more opportunities for scaling than the previous release and also satisfies requirements of the different organizations — from SMB to the global companies. The opened and expanded platform helps to achieve complete transparency of all environments in the single console, including applications, networks and storage devices.
In new release the expanded analytical means, "smart" notifications and possibilities of detection of problems allowing to reveal difficulties for a set of systems even before their emergence and to propose solutions will be provided. Such solutions include the built-in links for start of corrections based on the politician that will allow IT commands to solve problems in the single console. VMware vRealize Operations 6.0 will include new features on planning of tanks and project management which are beyond far VMware vSphere opportunities, and extend to physical mediums and metrics of level of applications for the best management of requirements, available resources and agreements on the level of service (SLA).
2013: vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8
On October 15, 2013 the VMware company announced a release of the new version of vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8.
Changes
In the new version possibilities of performance review of crucial applications Microsoft Exchange including are improved Microsoft SQL Server. In VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8 analytic functions for a wide number of storage systems are implemented thanks to what it will be easier for administrators to reveal errors of a configuration, problems with resources and performance. The new built-in panels of monitoring provide more evident control over the applications working on Microsoft Hyper-V and Amazon Web Services.
VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8 will help IT services to pass to a single standard platform of management of transactions.
Cost and availability
Sales of the solution should begin in the fourth quarter. The cost of the license is $4995 for the processor.
Sales are begun
On December 13, 2013 the VMware company announced the beginning of sales of VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8.
VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.6
VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.6 applies the patented technique of statistical analysis to the integrated performance management, the capacity and a configuration of cloud infrastructure. The improved possibilities of VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.6 include new panels of compliance, automatic grouping of objects and monitoring at the level of applications by means of integration with VMware vFabric Hyperic®. Besides, the basic abilities to manage performance which are available in VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite are included in all versions of VMware vSphere now.
