2022: Virtual TV Rehabilitation Platform Announcement
The company "Virtual Rehabilitation" has developed the VRMedSoft - software and hardware complex VR to correctly determine the necessary program for the rehabilitation of cognitive functions, distractions from pain and stabilization of the psychoemotional state. Information about this appeared on April 12, 2022.
As of April 2022, virtual reality is considered as a promising method for forming motor stereotypes with the integration of virtual limbs into the body circuitry of patients, as well as cognitive and multisensory stimulation of mental processes. Having secured the support of the National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov - "Virtual Rehabilitation" began to jointly implement the project. told Anna Timofeeva, director of Virtual Rehabilitation LLC |
As reported, the Medical Rehabilitation Clinic of this Center has been using VR technologies for many years. Here there are the necessary conditions for testing prototypes and, after proving their safety, conducting clinical studies on patients with various pathologies.
VR technologies replace or distort information from sensory organs, modify and analyze body responses, ensuring its interaction with the created virtual environment. The brain is "deceived," which means we need to learn how to deceive the brain for the benefit of the patient. From the point of view of the rehabilitation component, virtual programs can be conditionally divided into training motor skills, cognitive functions or correcting the emotional state of patients. explained Vadim Daminov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov" |
At the heart of "VRMedSoft" is traditional rehabilitation, which the developers optimized with the help of VR and artificial intelligence, combining publicly available therapeutic physical education and personalized medicine. At the same time, each patient has a personal electronic guide to help perform the prescribed exercises. The platform fully meets the requirements for telemedicine and rehabilitation.
The VRMedSoft project helps patients restore and maintain their health after suffering diseases and in the presence of various pathologies.
As of April 2022, the platform features more than 50 modules, including Movements, Psychology, Coordination, Aphasia, Memory, Attention, Antibol, Dementia, Antiphobia, Covid-19, Cognitive and Ergotherapy. At the same time, the VRMedSoft is easily scalable and allows the expansion of additional modules.
Virtual Rehabilitation uses digital intelligent technologies of personalized medicine in this project. They automatically develop an individual palliative VR therapy program for each patient to correct the psychoemotional state of a person and reduce his pain syndrome.
At the same time, the medical expert system was developed on the basis of formalization of professional knowledge of a doctor in palliative medical care and a psychophysiologist.
When a patient enters the program, AI creates his digital double, transferring all the data on the health and psychoemotional state of a real person to him. After completing a rehabilitation course, AI again reads data from the digital twin to predict the response to VR therapy. Through interactive training in a game form, VRMedSoft allows you to control pain, as well as reduce, restore and maximize the degree of cognitive deficits in patients. complemented by Anna Timofeeva |
At the same time, the developers emphasize that the complex they created is just the first part of the platform, which will be expanded and supplemented by courses for the use of digital therapy methods using VR in neurocognitive rehabilitation at all stages of restorative treatment.
Patients of the Clinic of Medical Rehabilitation "NMHC named after N.I. Pirogov" have already tested the VRMedSoft on themselves. These are mainly people who have suffered a cerebral stroke, various brain and spinal cord injuries, hip and knee endoprosthetics.
We can say that restoring household skills and optimizing the quality of life after a stroke using VR technologies is more effective. In rehabilitation, the patient's return to daily activity plays an important role, which involves not only restoring specific movements, but also training higher nervous activities in general - cognitive and emotional functions that allow adapting limited opportunities to the environment. In virtual reality, patients can dosed and safely return to their usual affairs: shop in a store (working memory training), navigate in a shopping center (spatial orientation training), find people according to external characteristics (selective attention training), look for familiar places on the street (recognition memory training), pay at the box office (counting training). emphasized Polina Tkachenko, PhD, Head of Medical Rehabilitation Department for Patients with Impaired Peripheral Nervous System and Musculoskeletal System Function |
VRMedSoft is applicable to a wide range of users of different ages and motivates patients to rehabilitation activities. The complex collects analytical data based on the results of sessions, provides their centralized control, preserves and protects personal information of customers. The project was approved by the Union of Rehabilitologists of Russia.
VRMedSoft will help patients who have noted: cognitive impairment of various genesis of adults, the consequences of stroke or traumatic brain injury, chronic brain ischemia, encephalopathy of various genesis, demyelinating and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system, the consequences of diseases suffered (including viral, including Covid-19) or chronic fatigue syndrome.
VRMedSoft is already widely used in the "NMHC named after N.I. Pirogov." In the near future, the software and hardware complex will begin to work in several Moscow clinics at once as part of a joint pilot project of the Innovation Agency Moscow and Virtual Rehabilitation LLC[1]
