As a result, over the year, network traffic grew by 40%, the maximum network access speed reaches 500 Mbps.

In the Stavropol Territory, Beeline provides home Internet service to more than 85 thousand users in the cities of Stavropol, Mikhailovsk, Izobilny, Pyatigorsk, Mineralnye Vody, Kislovodsk, Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk, Georgievsk, Essentukskaya village and Goryachevodsky village.

In the Stavropol region, the Beeline home Internet and digital TV service for April 2022 is available for 70% of the region's households - this is more than 266 thousand apartments. In Kislovodsk and Mineralnye Vody, the network capacity increased by 2 times due to the expansion of long-distance channels. In Stavropol, we doubled the performance of the equipment that is responsible for redistributing traffic. In Pyatigorsk, we are implementing a project to expand intracity Internet access channels. All this allows to ensure high speed of home Internet and stable operation of digital TV in conditions of growing subscriber base,
said Director of the Stavropol branch of Beeline Anatoly Zagorulko.

More than 76% of broadband access subscribers in the Stavropol Territory choose convergent family tariffs, which include home Internet, digital TV and mobile communications[1].

2020: Investment in the development of wired broadband access

"Byline" (PJSC VimpelCom"") launched in the summer of 2020 a mass program for the modernization of BROADBAND ACCESS water. The program is planned for 2020-2021, the volume of investments will amount to 2.3 billion rubles. In addition, on the site of the mobile link "Bilyne" began to introduce new SON (2G Self 3G LTE Optimized Networks) systems for the avant-garde advancements of LT, Sant.

One of the reasons for the modernization is the increase in traffic during self-isolation. As part of the modernization of the broadband network, Beeline technicians replace obsolete equipment in each section of the network, the capacities of existing communication channels will also be expanded, and additional communication channels will be built in order to redistribute Internet traffic flows in the future and cope with an ever-growing load.

According to the press service of the company, through the implementation of the Beeline program, it will ensure the stable operation of home Internet and Beeline TV services even during peak load hours. At the first stage, Beeline updates and strengthens the network in those regions where communication channels are most used. In the next two years, the broadband network will be modernized in all regions of Russia, where the Beeline home Internet operates. At the moment, Beeline has completed the first stage of expanding the capacity of a fixed network in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Stavropol, Tver, Kazan, Kemerovo, Perm, Smolensk, Sochi, Tolyatti, Ulyanovsk, Cherepovets. As a result, broadband network capacity in these cities has already increased by 40%, and channel capacity has increased to 100 Gbit/s.

According to a representative of the Bilain press service, in the next two years the broadband access network will be modernized in all regions of Russia, where Beeline's home Internet works. This is more than 180 cities in Russia. "We see a constant increase in the number of new customers and new habits formed during self-isolation in terms of the consumption of new services for work, training, entertainment will continue, as well as the need for high-quality service," the Bilaina press service said.

In addition, according to the press service of the operator, Beeline began to introduce a new generation of SON (Self Optimized Networks - self-optimizable network) for automated optimization of 2G, 3G, LTE and LTE Advanced networks. The technology was provided by P.I. Works. The new generation SON system is already operating on the Beeline network in Moscow, and its implementation is also underway in St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. In the future, it will be scaled throughout Russia. The latest technology for automated network optimization works as follows: the system analyzes the needs of all customers in the coverage area of the base stations and decides on the optimal transfer of resources between them. If customer requirements change, SON automatically changes the network parameters. For example, during the day directs resources to servicing customers inside offices and other premises, and in the evening creates the necessary capacity to cover roads, where car traffic and subscriber density increase. To adapt the network to customer requests, the system uses data from network statistics, terrain, storeys and building density.

Now the focus of the Beeline technical directorate is the expansion of the network in Moscow and the active construction of the network in the Moscow metro. The company increased the pace of network construction in the capital and the Moscow region, building in six months of 2020 as many base stations as in the whole of 2019.
