2025: Product Announcement

In mid-July 2025, the Chinese company UBTech Robotics introduced the world's first industrial humanoid robot, which is capable of working continuously 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The car was named Walker S2.

The main feature of the robot is a power system with two battery modules. In the event of a discharge or failure of the main battery pack, the machine can switch to standby without interrupting critical tasks. In addition, the Walker S2 is able to independently remove a discharged module from its back and change it to a fully charged one, taking it from a special stand. The whole process takes about three minutes. At the same time, human intervention and reboot of onboard systems are not required.

According to UBTech, autonomous battery replacement technology allows the robot to maintain continuous operation. This reduces maintenance costs and improves overall production efficiency. In addition, Walker S2 is able to independently choose between replacing the battery and charging it from the mains - depending on the priority of the tasks and the deadlines for their implementation. Thus, dynamic power management is provided.

Humanoid robots UBTech are used on assembly lines of Chinese electric car maker Nio. In addition, other automotive companies, including BYD and Zeekr, are showing interest in such assistants. Walker robots are supposed to help reduce the burden on enterprise employees by taking on monotonous and hard work. The ability to operate around the clock will increase plant productivity and reduce personnel costs.[1]
