2022: Humanoid Robot Announcement
In August 2022, Xiaomi introduced a full-size humanoid robot called CyberOne. His height is 177 cm, weight - 52 kg.
The front of the robot's head is made of a curved OLED panel, and the robot perceives the world in 3D. It has two microphones to recognize sounds.
To perceive the environment, the humanoid robot is guided by vision. Equipped with a Mi-Sense depth of view module developed by Xiaomi in combination with AI interaction algorithms, CyberOne can perceive three-dimensional space, as well as identify faces, gestures and expressions, which allows the robot not only to see, but also to process the environment. To interact with the environment, CyberOne is equipped with a system for recognizing the semantics of surrounding sounds and identifying speech emotions MiAI, allowing it to recognize 85 types of environmental sounds and 45 classifications of human emotions. It is also equipped with a special algorithm to control the whole body and allows you to adjust the movement of 21 joints.
CyberOne can recognize the emotions of happiness and, for example, support the user during sad moments. All of these features are embedded in CyberOne processes that work in conjunction with a curved OLED module to display information in real time. The robot is said to be learning new skills every day.
Humanoid robot CyberOne, according to Xiaomi, combines complex mechatronic technologies and AI developed in the robotics specialist Xiaomi Robotics Lab in its design. Representatives of the company claim that significant funds have been invested in the development of CyberOne. However, CyberOne is only the first generation of the product, and many aspects of it continue to be developed.
The cost of Xiaomi's CyberOne robot ranges from 600 thousand to 700 thousand yuan (about $89,100 - $104 thousand). The robot is in commercialization and has not yet entered production.[1]
