On December 17, 2013 the Yellowfin company released the new version of the BI of the Yellowfin 7 platform. It will become available on Friday, December 20th, 2013.

Yellowfin 7 provides beautiful, balanced, brilliant analytical software thanks to which search and systematization of data at the enterprise level considerably become simpler, the company in the press release stated.

Innovations

The additions and improvements implemented in this version covered five main technical aspects:

  • the improved creation of content,
  • formatting of charts in batch mode,
  • expanded administration,
  • new functionality of joint decision making
  • preparation of reports from mobile devices.

The new interface of the module of search and systematization of data in Yellowfin 7 makes easier independent analytical work better. Users will be able to create content on the basis of BI quicker, than ever earlier and on any device.

Development of reports is improved

  • The module for creation of content is completely processed into Yellowfin 7. Now he helps users to carry out the specialized analysis of business data in real time, receiving relevant data on the state of affairs.

The interface of creation of reports is updated

The interface of creation of reports and specialized data analysis is changed. "Canvas" for creation of content enters it. Any selected fields instantly are displayed on a canvas, providing to users immediate result of their actions and the analysis of the provided data. Users immediately will see whether the indicators and parameters for the made report selected by them approach.

Preparation of reports from mobile devices

In Yellowfin 7 flexible opportunities of creation of content and the specialized analysis on the selected mobile device by means of the browser are implemented, the same as it becomes on the PC.

Yellowfin provides mobile analytics on any device or the platform without additional costs, proprietary applications for iPhone, iPad, the hybrid HTML 5 application for Android or the web browser.

Formatting of charts in batch mode

The new feature of simultaneous operation with different charts helps to create several charts on the basis of one data set, providing fast studying and data analysis from several points of view. This function differs from the solutions implemented in other instruments of data visualization where the separate request for each visualization is created noted in the company. In the solution Yellowfin 7 of calculation are made automatically in the course of creation of charts. It reaches substantial increase of performance as creations of several visualization only one database request is sent. This opportunity - to create several charts on the basis of one data set, considerably reduces a set-up time of reports.

The new canvas in the advanced designer of reports of Yellowfin 7 gives the chance to users to drag several charts, locating their row in one window and creating some kind of dashboard for working with these data.

The possibility of adding of the various user mini-applications displaying an additional context for the selected data visualizations is supported. The user mini-applications display the text, images, summaries and links to external sources.

New administration console

Thanks to the new administration console, in the analytical Yellowfin platform requirements of corporate IT department and the users who are independently performing search and systematization of data are equally considered. In such solution not only needs of end users are considered. That effectively and quickly to manage placement of BI at the enterprise level, it is necessary to optimize all process of administration.

The administrative Yellowfin 7 console integrates a broad spectrum of control functions, using which, administrators obtain the complete information about operation of application that reduces time and resources necessary for administration. Key indicators: statistics of users, number of users, their logins, representation with dashboards and reports allow to facilitate to administrators optimization of management and use of the Yellowfin 7 environment.

Mini-applications of decision support

A number of mini-applications of decision support is added to the module "Chronicle" (the personalized news feed of Yellowfin - is supported in Facebook). In real time there is a cataloguing of action of users of Yellowfin, it increases activity of users and simplifies joint decision making.

Within joint work on the basis of the module Yellowfin "Hronika" it is possible to comment on reports, to create subjects for discussions, to share in them the ideas and data on a work progress - as during real discussion. The feature to accept and write joint solutions for quality improvement and transparency of decision making in the organization is added.
