In "AK BARS" Bank the project of migration of a processing system on the new hardware-software platform - Oracle Database 11g came to the end. Work was carried out by RDTECH Ltd company.
Task
The bank had a requirement - to provide fulfillment of requirements of the updated standard of the industry of payment cards.
Solution
Migration of the database of plastic cards from the version of Oracle Database 10g on the version of Oracle Database 11g was carried out. In a work progress the database on the industrial server was moved on new more capacious and high-speed disks that allowed to accelerate processing of client data.
Results
Specialists of RDTECH Ltd optimized work of the information system supporting a full stroke of transactions with the payment cards emitted by bank. Optimization of system operation was performed within audit of readiness of IT infrastructure of bank for requirements of the standard of data security of the industry of payment cards - PCI DSS which new version became effective since January 1, 2011.
Details
The database of bank - subject to migration - works in the 24x7 mode therefore for the purpose of minimization of a downtime in the course of migration some components of the database (Ultra Search, InterMedia, Oracle Spatial and so forth) which are not involved at present in its work were deleted. Removal of components allowed to reduce a downtime by 40 min. With the same purpose some processes of migration were executed after delivery of the database in commercial operation.
Upon termination of industrial migration monitoring of database performance, setup of SQL commands and regular statistic reports of bank is carried out. Time of formation of a number of analytical reports of bank was succeeded to reduce from several to one-four o'clock minutes that will allow to increase significantly the speed and efficiency of acceptance of management decisions, including on what customer service quality of bank depends.
