ARMS Group creates the joint venture for production of structural materials

On October 27, 2014 the Galen LLC company and ARMS Group announced signing of the contract which purpose - creation of joint venture for production bazalto-and fiberglass structural materials in the city of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. According to it, Galen LLC will act as the supplier of necessary technological solutions and the equipment.

Project Tasks

Reaching of a production line the maximum power is planned for the end of 2015. The enterprise should master release bazalto-and fiberglass composites for the construction industry of the region — flexible communications and an armature.

ARMS will apply the innovation products of the enterprise at construction of the subway in the city of Doha within preparation of Qatar for holding the FIFA World Cup of 2022. The active phase of construction will begin in 2016, and completely constructional works will be completed by 2024. Some traditional solutions in this project cannot be used — subsoil waters are at the level of 4 meters under the Earth's surface and because of proximity of the Persian Gulf represent aggressive alkaline environment. In similar conditions a normal metal armature quickly enough collapses while its analogs on a basis bazalto-and fiberglass composites are not subject to corrosion and have comparable durability with a smaller weight and moderate cost. The continuous composite armature made on technologies of RUSNANO portfolio company will be used during creation of tunnel tubings instead of traditional metal elements.

The Galen company will receive 20% a share in the project and $2 million as payment for the delivered production line.
