A single data storage and processing center of the Electronic Government system was built in the Zangiatinsky district of Tashkent region. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the work of this complex on August 27, 2022.
According to the press service of the head of state, the new data center will reduce the cost of data storage and technical support, as well as improve the quality of public services. The President called the center the "heart" of digitalization of the country and the foundation of e-government.
The creation of the country's first high-performance data storage and processing center was provided for by the Digital Uzbekistan-2030 strategy. It was built in conjunction with the Chinese company Huawei.
The storage capacity of the center is 20 petabytes. 580 servers are installed in the data center, diesel generators with a total capacity of 5 megawatts provide continuous operation of the system. Modern building cooling and fire safety systems are in effect. The data center is TIER III certified by the Uptime International Institute, it said.
In our country, measures are being taken to digitalize all areas and improve the convenience of serving the population. Also, our country is becoming a unique regional hub of remote services. This led to the need to create a data center in accordance with international standards, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. |
Earlier, the National Agency for Project Management (NAPU) of Uzbekistan noted that the data center will act as a kind of main pillar for the further development of e-government in the republic on the basis of South Korea's best practices. The project was implemented with the support of South Korean partners, but which companies are in question are not reported.[1]
