2022: InStock WMS Implementation

The Acor warehouse operates under the control of the InStock WMS system. InStock Technologies (In-Stock Technologies) announced this on December 1, 2022.

The company Acor is one of the manufacturers and suppliers of paint tools Russia in and. countries CIS To comply with customer requirements and scale production tasks, it was necessary to introduce strict accounting in the warehouse and automate all processes of processing goods, eliminate human errors and increase the speed and accuracy of the warehouse.

The warehouse complex is equipped with 4-tier storage racks and 3-tier mezzanine. To optimize the operations, the warehouse is divided into zones, the products intended for Leroy Merlin networks are stored in a certain zone and have their own characteristics during processing.

Automation of processes begins with acceptance. In any project, the quality of acceptance is of great importance. The speed of further product processing processes depends on how accurate product information will be in the system. This project uses the method Detailed Acceptance in Assortment.

During the acceptance process, the InStock system WMS requests the item code through the shipping documentation, while the employee scans barcode the item or group code and the quantity of the item. The system determines the units of measure from the entered data.

Once each individual pallet has been accepted, the System automatically creates jobs to place it.

InStock WMS selects the highest priority placement job and sends the employee a shipping documentation job. According to the task, the employee takes the pallet from the specified reception cell and places it according to the task from the WMS.

InStock WMS determines the location of each pallet according to the rules. If the worker places the item in a cell other than the recommended one, the WMS will issue a warning to the user about the violation of the recommendation. Thus, goods in the warehouse are stored in strict accordance with the placement rules, at any time the system has accurate information about the location and quantity of any goods.

InStock WMS manages the order selection processes, forming a route for the warehouse employee. This project uses several selection methods, which are selected depending on the orders.

The method of selection of several orders with sorting on the pitchfork is used for single sampling.

The Sort Selection method configures how many orders can be selected at the same time and, if necessary, a limit on the number of lines of one order for one picker.

In pallet selection, the system creates jobs for each pallet. The jobs specify the cell and pallet number. The employee, having received a pallet selection task at the shipping documentation, scans the pallet number in the specified cell, confirming the selection. The WMS then indicates the end zone. This can be an expedition zone, control depending on the type of order. By moving the pallet to the target cell, the employee scans its barcode to confirm the movement.

With InStock WMS, the selection accuracy reaches 100%, so only certain orders are subject to control according to customer requirements.

During shipment, WMS controls which pallet to take for loading and from which bin for this order, in which sequence to load into the machine.

With the introduction of InStock WMS in the warehouse of AKOR, storage was optimized, the time for selecting orders was reduced. The accuracy of accounting and selection of orders at the warehouse increased 100%. All processing processes from acceptance to shipment are automated.
