On February 15, 2019 Tele2 reported that they signed the agreement on interaction in the field of development of communication services with administration of Kursk region. In 2019 the operator is going to invest 440 million rubles in development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region.

The agreement is signed by the CEO of Tele2 Sergey Emdin and the acting as the governor of Kursk region Roman Starovoyt. The cooperation purpose – interaction of the operator and regional administration in the field of development of information and telecommunication infrastructure of the region, increase in investments into economy of area and implementation of social and economic projects.

The signed agreement solves an important social problem of the region – increase in a coverage and increase in availability of high-quality and inexpensive mobile communication in Kursk region, including in the small and remote localities. During 2019 the operator is going to expand a cellular transmission network and to upgrade the equipment more than in 20 districts of the area for providing the population with services based on technology 4G. The general investments of Tele2 into development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region will make about 440 million rubles.

We are aimed at long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with administration of Kursk region. The agreement fixes the agreements reached by us in issues of interaction and defines key tasks for the next years. For us as for socially responsible operator important that the planned measures will promote increase in the standard of living of the population and improvement of economic climate in the region.

Partnership development and the investment attraction are very important for region economy. 2014

In April, 2014 Tele2, the alternative mobile operator, and administration of Kursk region signed in April, 2014 the agreement of intent in the field of development of communication services. Within the agreement of Tele2 she intends to invest not less than 94 million rubles in development of cellular infrastructure of the region that will allow to expand a coverage of Tele2 network in Kursk region and to increase communication quality, including in the remote and hardly accessible localities.

The agreement is signed by the first deputy governor of Kursk region Alexander Zubarev and the director of operations of Tele2 Dmitry Lopatukhin.

The purpose of the agreement is interaction of Tele2 and administration in the field of development of telecommunication infrastructure of Kursk region, the investment attraction in economy of the region and implementation of regional social and economic programs.

Signing of this document solves an important social problem – expansion of a coverage and capacity of network of inexpensive mobile communication. The investment project provides construction of a number of new base stations and hardware upgrade of the existing objects of network infrastructure. Special attention will be paid to increase in availability of mobile services in the remote localities of Kursk region and also in the territories located along federal highways.

Within the agreement of Tele2 gave a gift to three educational institutions of Kursk region – Klyukvinsky sanatorium boarding school, Pensky special boarding school for orphan children and to Sudzhansky boarding school in which more than four hundred pupils live and study. Dmitry Lopatukhin handed to representatives of schools certificates on acquisition of household technology equipment for the total amount more than 650,000 rubles.

More than 500,000 people in the region are subscribers of Tele2. And it is nearly a half of the population of Kursk region. Within the previous agreement of intent which validity period expired in December, 2013 Tele2 increased a scope of a cellular transmission network from 92% to 96.5% of the territory of the region. 99% of residents of Kursk region can use services of the alternative telecom operator. The total volume of investments into the period in 2011−2013 exceeded 250 million rubles.
