2020: Implementation of Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform
The government of the Rostov region is protected from the target attacks by the solution of Kaspersky Lab. On August 31, 2020 the developer reported about it.
The pool of solutions for ensuring cyber security of the Government of the Rostov region within the agreement signed in 2018 includes also the platform for counteraction to difficult threats and the target attacks of Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack now. The solution considers specifics of the different industries and helps to provide compliance to standards of external regulating authorities, to standards of the bank industry, PCI DSS and also requirements of the legislation for protection of critical information infrastructure.
According to Kaspersky Lab, from January to July, 2020 in the Rostov region every twentieth corporate user (5.61% of the total number of attacked) faced the web attacks approximately. To local threats, i.e. it which extend not on the Internet, and using, for example, removable mediums (USB sticks, hard drives, etc.) every fifth working device underwent. Besides, in the first seven months of year in the region about hundred thousand attempts of transitions of corporate users to phishing pages were blocked.
Earlier within the same agreement state bodies of the Rostov region were provided with the solutions Kaspersky Security for business, Kaspersky Security for virtual and cloud environments, Kaspersky Security for mail servers and Kaspersky Security for Internet gateways. Besides, in 2019–2020 academic year at the Don state technical university within training in discipline "Protection of programs and data" the licenses Kaspersky Total Security were used. Also to bases of cyber security teachers of university were trained.
The agreement which we signed with Kaspersky Lab allows to provide the Rostov region with protective technologies. Now among them and the platform for protection against the target attacks. Such attacks are carefully studied under each specific organization and often do not detect themselves for a long time in any way. Espionage, leakage of confidential data, idle time of the enterprise or blow to reputation can become a result. The solution of Kaspersky Lab resists to attacks at all stages and is capable both to detect already begun attack, and to protect the organization from potential threats, having estimated risks for security in the current infrastructure — Herman Lopatkin, the minister of information technologies and communications of the Rostov region commented. |

On October 1, 2018 Kaspersky Lab and the government of the Rostov region announced intention to cooperate in the field of information security.
According to the company, a main objective of long-term partnership – increase in level of security of IT infrastructure of the region.
Important component of social and economic development of our region is increase in level of informatization and universal distribution of high technologies. They simplify and accelerate interaction of authorities and inhabitants of the region, make state services available to the general population. However this process should go in parallel with ensuring high-quality data protection and the infrastructure from various threats. |
Kaspersky Lab cooperates with Russian regions for the purpose of increase in level of their information security. In particular, agreements on cooperation are signed with the governments of the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk and Murmansk regions and also with administrations of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, the Republic Northern Ossetia-Alania, the Altai, Transbaikal and Krasnodar regions and with the Government of Saint Petersburg.[1]
