Alrosa chose Tantor Postgres DBMS - passed the testing stage

2025: Tantor Postgres DBMS Testing

Tantor Labs and AK ALROSA (PJSC) conducted load testing of the Russian Tantor Postgres DBMS in conjunction with the 1C: Enterprise platform. During testing, the simultaneous full-fledged work of 700 users was imitated. The entire project took about a month and a half, including preparatory work. Tantor Labs announced this on August 26, 2025.

The goal of the project was a comprehensive test of the performance, stability and fault tolerance DBMS of the Tantor Postgres (in the Special Edition) 1C and 1C: Enterprise bundle in conditions as close as possible to the real production tasks of ALROSA. During testing, the simultaneous full-fledged work of 700 users was simulated, which corresponds to the expected peak load on the company's corporate systems, and already in 2026 - 2027 it is planned to conduct a load test for 4,000 users. Particular attention during testing was paid to the APDEX (Application Performance Index) indicator - an industrial standard for assessing user satisfaction with the response of the system. DBMS Tantor Postgres demonstrated a result corresponding to the "Excellent" level (value above 0.94), which confirms the comfortable work of users even under extreme load.

The system functioned smoothly throughout the test, confirming its readiness for operation in high-load industrial environments. During testing, it was confirmed that the joint work of the 1C software stack and the Tantor Postgres DBMS is capable of providing the required level of performance and stability for large-scale business. All indicators met the stated expectations, and the deviations that occurred were analyzed and promptly eliminated.

As part of the strategic program import substitution , by 2028, ALROSA plans to completely switch to domestic software solutions, replacing foreign ones - ERP systems with products on the 1C platform.
