2022: Antison in Mosgortrans - Sleep Control System

Moscow became the first city in Russia where artificial intelligence is responsible for public transport safety. In the driver's cabs, an Antison driver condition monitoring system has been installed, the task of which is to prevent dangerous incidents on metropolitan roads. The devices operate automatically and prevent drivers from being distracted from the driving process. The author of the decision is KSOR Group, the leader of the Russian market in the field of such devices for road safety.

Driver fatigue as a cause of an accident

More than 20% of accidents occur due to severe fatigue of drivers. The need to constantly concentrate on the road situation, monotonous movement, a similar set of actions overload the nervous system and visual organs. When the driver is forced to be at the wheel for a long time, fatigue accumulates discreetly. As a result, vigilance is lost, the ability to drive a vehicle deteriorates, a dreamy state arises, fraught with sudden sleep.

Experts from the Union of Passengers of Russia are sure that overwork of the driver is one of the most frequent causes of accidents on public transport. Pre-flight examinations cannot accurately determine the physical capabilities of a particular person, and it is extremely difficult to independently feel the fatigue threshold. Professionals are at risk, forced to spend eight or more hours at the wheel - bus, tram and trolleybus drivers, truckers and taxi drivers.

The KSOR group of companies was one of the first in Russia to begin the search for a solution that prevents the loss of concentration and sleep while driving. The developer took Driver State Monitoring as the basis - a system that analyzes the physiological state of the driver and warns him of danger. With the help of technology, it is possible to track deviations in a person's behavior, evaluate his condition and come to the conclusion that it is possible to further drive the vehicle.

The development of the Antison software complex KSOR began in 2014 on the basis of a number of preliminary studies. The project was created from scratch and subsequently became the basis for the development of many video analytics systems in the country. The company's engineers paid maximum attention to setting up super-sensitive algorithms that are able to respond to physiological signs of concentration loss, distraction from the road, dredging and falling asleep.

Video camera and data processing unit of Antison system

By 2018, pilot tests of the Xor Group software complex were completed and testing of the system at the enterprises of the Moscow transport hub began. Today, Antison is installed on all buses, trams and trolleybuses of the capital, as well as on the head cars of the Moscow metro. Intelligent equipment allowed to reduce the number of accidents involving public transport by 26% and significantly reduce the costs of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans for the repair of rolling stock.

System operating principles

Antison works on the basis of three technologies: artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and edge computing, with the help of which data is processed on IoT devices remote from the data center. The complex consists of three units: 1. Surveillance device. 2. Neural network, which is trained on the basis of marked DataSet and is previously trained during operation. 3. Monitoring center, where information is accumulated on the fleet and dispatchers work around the clock.

A surveillance system is installed in the driver's cab, which includes an infrared video camera with a wide coverage area. An additional device is a computing module with the function of collecting and analyzing information. The camera operates in 24/7 mode and is focused on 30 face points of the driver. The video stream enters the computing unit, which transmits telemetry and geolocation data to the neural network.

The Antison system is installed on ground transport in Moscow

The Antison system differs from many analogues in the accuracy of event recognition, as well as the ability to configure the algorithm for recognizing an alarm event under the client. Anxiety signs include closed eyes, yawning, frequent blinking, certain gestures. As soon as the driver's condition indicates a loss of concentration, an audible signal with a light indication enters the cockpit. At the same time, information about the incident is received by the dispatcher, and video fragments are recorded for further analysis in their own 24-hour situation center

Subsequently, any dangerous situation can be viewed in the monitoring center to understand the causes of abnormal behavior of the employee, determine the location and speed of the vehicle. In this way, you can identify dangerous sections of the track, the driver's tendency to risk, evaluate the professionalism of the fleet worker and even use this data to encourage and motivate drivers.

In the monitoring center, specialists are on duty around the clock who quickly respond to incidents. In critical cases, the driver can be removed from the flight, advised to relax or sent for a medical examination. The database stores information on the entire fleet, reports can be uploaded for any period. Customers have access to information in their personal account. In parallel, the monitoring center can maintain driver cards and determine the risk profile of each employee.

Successful experience in public transport of the capital

Mosgortrans is one of the most significant partners of the CSR. The company began a massive installation of the Antison system on the public transport of the capital in 2019. Today, devices track the condition of drivers for 9 thousand units of the ground fleet and drivers on 1.5 thousand metro locomotives. During this time, the system managed to prevent more than 11,000 dangerous incidents that could lead to an accident.

The State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans notes that Antison reduces the risk of traffic accidents due to fatigue, falling asleep and distraction of drivers. In the first month after implementation, about 500 incidents were detected and during operation their number is steadily decreasing. The system responds not only to falling asleep, but also tracks other signs of loss of attention - for example, frequent glances to the side. Signals in the cockpit help employees focus on the driving process and not be distracted.

Antison devices help the driver concentrate on the road

The goal of introducing the complex at the enterprise was primarily concern for the safety of drivers and passengers. Thanks to the Antison system, it was possible not only to reduce the number of potentially dangerous situations by 50%, but also to reduce losses from downtime and repair of rolling stock by 65%.

Management and ordinary employees of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans highly appreciate the effectiveness of the devices developed by KSOR. Reviews speak for themselves:

"The complex helps a lot on early or late flights, when even a professional can fall asleep. Antison recalls that responsibility and security in our work come first " Alexander, driver
"The
Antison system is useful for the driver. Reacts very accurately. I close my eyes, and even a second does not pass how the signal fires. Once again does not allow distraction, and remote control adds confidence " Mikhail, metro driver
"During operation, the system has proved to be effective. Antison works invisibly for passengers and provides additional travel security " Representatives of the management of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans

Technical equipment monitoring

Developers note that the system is constantly improving. One of the main advantages of the Antison complex is the constant monitoring of equipment performance. In the first versions of the software, it was only possible to monitor the connection of devices to the network. Information about the failure of video cameras and program blocks was sometimes received with delays.

Today, technicians can quickly obtain detailed data on any complex if necessary:

  • device location:
  • firmware version;
  • about the health of individual items.

All data is available in real time. Antison complexes are turned on automatically with the start of the working shift. If any of them did not work, this immediately becomes known. Sometimes the cameras are turned off by the drivers themselves, then the customer receives a call asking him to check the vehicle. Thus, you can find out which units of the fleet went into repair, and where the complex was damaged for another reason.

All breakdowns are quickly eliminated by technical specialists. In most cases, diagnosis and re-letting of complexes can be carried out remotely. To eliminate complex problems, engineers go to the place where they repair and configure the equipment. The company has technical support that manages devices, advises specialists and representatives of customers.

Installation and safety of Antison monitoring system

The process of installing the Antison system in the company is well tuned, and the work on connecting electrics and installing cameras is strictly regulated. Each stage is accompanied by a detailed photo report, and all consumables are intended directly for use in transport. For example, the company buys tips and ring wires that strictly comply with GOST. Special attention is paid to high-quality tools - even pliers, which are used in work, are designed to work with electrics in vehicles.

Thanks to a well-established technical support and maintenance system, it is possible to maintain the operability of all Antison devices in Moscow. Interaction with Mosgortrans is carried out in accordance with the tasks set by the customer. All installation and dismantling works are recorded in the photo and are accompanied by acceptance certificates signed by company representatives.

The Antison system was certified in Rospotrebnadzor for light biological safety. Experts revealed that the intensity of infrared radiation in the driver's cab does not exceed 0.03 W/sq. m at the maximum set by SanPin 0.05 W/sq. m. Devices are tested for electromagnetic compatibility with other equipment and can be installed in parallel with tachographs and other safety systems intended for use in transport.

Advantages of Driver Monitoring System

The uniqueness of the Antison complex lies in an innovative technological platform and the presence of its own monitoring center. Experts recognize the developed CSR neural network as the best in Russia. The company notes that usually the formation of a DataSet takes at least six months of the work of a team of three to four specialists, and for training the neural network requires an array of data, which consists of a million events. CSR engineers are several steps ahead of competitors, as they work with huge DataSet, which is constantly replenished with new events.

Operators are on duty in the situation center who validate all incidents, which minimizes the percentage of false positives. Since the neural network is constantly improving, most events are processed automatically. As a result, one specialist can drive 100-150 vehicles, which reduces the cost of technical support and eliminates the need to create a separate service at the customer.

Unlike Chinese analogues, the Antison system in 99% of cases does not give an error. An additional guarantor of reliability is the situation center, where operators conduct additional validation of events and quickly make decisions in emergency cases. As noted in the company, the number of incidents is repeatedly reduced already in the first month after the installation of the system. Experience shows that Antison can reduce the number of traffic accidents by 85%, which allows customers to increase business efficiency by reducing costs.

The main goal is road safety

KSOR is an active participant in the national project to improve road safety, which is supervised by FBU Rosavtotrans. Within the framework of the program, measures are being taken to reduce injuries and deaths on the roads. One of the important areas of work is safety on public transport. The Antison complex, which has proven its effectiveness, is already undergoing pilot projects in three Russian regions, which will undoubtedly not only reduce the number of accidents, but also increase the level of driving culture and labor safety of driver employees at the regional level.

According to company statistics, in 2021 alone, with the help of a monitoring system, about 280 thousand alarming situations were prevented. Flexible settings "Antisene" allow you to adapt the debugging of the system to specific needs and, in addition to signs of fatigue, track deviation from the route, smoking and phone conversations. KSOR has a staff of its own developers, which allows you to fully control the system and continuously improve the product, using the most modern technologies and taking into account the needs of the market.

Today, Antison stands on 12 thousand vehicles, which makes the developer the absolute leader of the domestic market for high-tech devices aimed at improving the safety of the driver and road traffic. In 2021, the company won the Rusbase Digital Awards for the most advanced solution in the Logistics nomination, and Antison was recognized as one of the best startups of the SBER-500 accelerator of the international program of Sberbank and the 500 Global association of entrepreneurs.
