Asteros expands borders of the corporate mail

In April, 2011 in Asteros company the project on creation of archive of corporate e-mail based on the solution EMC SourceOne started. Archiving of mail which more than 1400 employees daily use will allow to reduce costs for external systems of data storage, to optimum use disk space and to increase effective management of mail correspondence.

For the staff of Asteros e-mail is an integral part of business. Daily more than 1400 active users at 9 geographically distributed offices send and receive 150,000 e-mails. To service such array of corporate mail, to optimize costs for the storage system (SS) and to support the active growth of business of Asteros, the decision on product introduction for archiving of e-mail EMC SourceOne was made.

The "pilot" project started at the beginning of 2011. Specialists of the company should estimate opportunities and advantages of the product EMC SourceOne. As a storage system the EMC Centera complex of 4 Tb which provides quick and simple online access to data is selected. In three months of operation the optimal strategy of archiving of messages which allowed to reduce volumes of mail base considerably was built. Having successfully completed a test stage, the staff of IT department started system implementation in scales of all company.

In general the solution EMC SourceOne ensures safety and confidentiality of data and also compression and removal of duplicative information: the letters received within mailings, copies of texts of initial messages in reply letters, etc.
