2025: Introduction of adaptive and coordinated traffic light management in Bishkek
Sitronics Group has implemented a system of adaptive and coordinated control of traffic lights in Bishkek. The company announced this on February 7, 2025.
It works at 21 intersections, previously equipped with specialists from the Russian IT company.
The system of adaptive and coordinated control of traffic lights is tested by the administration of the capital of Kyrgyzstan in order to assess the effectiveness of the technology for further scaling to the remaining intersections of the city. As of February 2025, there are 378 traffic lights in Bishkek.
The technology implemented by Sitronics Group works on the basis of advanced algorithms neural network analytics - a built-in system video analysts with a module for recognizing transport and calculating car traffic provides for changing the phases of traffic lights in real time. For example, if a large queue of vehicles has accumulated in one direction, the green signal time for that direction increases. In addition, the system can reorder phases to more effectively manage traffic.
A key feature of the system is that changes in traffic light signals occur instantly, responding to current traffic changes: the central controller sends commands to local controllers that control signals directly at each intersection.
The system adapts to traffic changes, reduces congestion and helps reduce the number of accidents. In addition, the algorithms laid down in the system automatically provide priority to public and transport special services. In general, it is this system that makes traffic lights "smart" and can significantly improve the efficiency and road safety in cities, said Sergey Tkachenko, President of Sitronics Group. |
Sitronics Group in 2024 modernized traffic lights at 21 intersections on Tokombaev, Baitik Baatyr and Abdrakhmanov streets and installed equipment for monitoring traffic flow parameters, as well as modern road controllers, which, if necessary, allow at any time to transfer control of traffic lights to manual remote mode. In addition, with the participation of the IT company, a situation center was created to monitor and manage traffic in the city.
2024: Road Network Equipment Plan with Smart Systems and Equipment
Sitronics Group equips Bishkek's road network with smart systems and equipment. Sitronics announced this on January 18, 2024.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the mayor's plan to combat traffic jams and the large-scale implementation of an automated traffic management system in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
The Russian IT company Sitronics Group in Bishkek will modernize and equip 21 intersections on Tokombaev, Baitik Baatyr and Abdrakhmanov streets with "smart" traffic lights and equipment for monitoring traffic parameters. Within the framework of the project, the company's specialists will develop a project for organizing traffic in certain areas, after which they will supply and commission the necessary hardware and software, including transport and pedestrian traffic lights, transport detectors and road controllers, and a system for monitoring traffic flow parameters.
The implementation of the project should improve throughput by streamlining transport and pedestrian flows, optimize road traffic, increase road safety, and analyze the current state of roads.
This project will form the basis for building the architecture of the global intelligent transport system of Bishkek. The end result of its implementation should be an increase in the comfort of the city's residents and their safety on the roads. Sitronics Group has quite a solid experience in introducing ITS in the regions of Russia, which allows implementing projects at the international level, "said Nikolai Pozhidaev, President of Sitronics Group. |
After the completion of this stage, the plans of the Bishkek City Hall to cover the entire city are more than 370 intersections where there are traffic lights.
