On February 21, 2022, the Administrator of the Moscow Parking Space (AMPP) announced a tender for the rental of road cameras designed to comply with parking rules in Moscow. The customer is ready to conclude a contract in the amount of 802.7 million rubles.
According to Kommersant, citing public procurement materials, the contractor will have to service and repair 250 cameras that can detect and record violations of parking and stopping rules, as well as check parking payments.
The cameras in question have been used in Moscow since 2018. Outwardly, they resemble street lights (the original name of the complex is "Street Falcon"). These complexes record violations of the parking regime at metro stations and significant objects (for example, at the State Duma), at bus stops, sidewalks, taxi parking lots, places for the disabled and bike paths. By February 2022, there are about 500 such devices in the capital, the AMPP said.
In addition to AMPP devices, the Moscow fixing system, we recall, also includes 3.6 thousand cameras managed by the Center for Traffic Management. These devices record speeding, driving along a dedicated lane, crossing markings, talking on the phone while driving - a total of 59 offenses. With the help of these complexes, according to Deptrans Moscow, in 2021 more than 30.8 million penalty orders were issued (5% more than a year earlier), 50% of which were for speeding.
Given that by February 2022, the fine for violating the rules of stopping and parking cars is 5,000 rubles, cameras for automatically fixing such violations can pay off quickly enough. In 2021, the number of recorded violations of parking rules by metropolitan motorists in 2021 increased immediately by 60%, and 23% more cars were taken to parking lots than in 2020.[1]
