2018: Upgrade of infrastructure based on micro DPC

On January 23, 2018 JSC Central Design Bureau of Automatic Equipment (CDBAE) announced upgrade of infrastructure based on micro DPC.

Prerequisites

TsKBA was required to upgrade data center to bring computing powers into accord to the current tasks and to simplify hardware maintenance. The partner in the project on a competitive basis selected Softline company.

Project Progress

Specialists of Softline offered the customer the modular micro DPC of DataStone+ developed by Utilex company. This solution allowing to receive ready, scalable, failsafe IT infrastructure in a short time. Engineering infrastructure of micro DPC conforms to requirements imposed to reliability of solutions of such class. Cooling is implemented based on two conditioners with the system of ultrasonic moistening. Two inputs of power supply are installed in conditioners: the main and reserve. Services of remote monitoring allow to control proactively a status of all engineering systems and to manage far off their work. Within three months of TsKBA received DataStone from manufacturing company, and engineers held an equipment commissioning.

Project Results

Solution deployment of DataStone+ offered by specialists of Softline allowed to expand a pool of server capacities without additional costs and to simplify maintenance of the equipment.

Choosing a Solution

Within the actions for development of IT infrastructure of TsKBA the decision on updating of the park of the server hardware was made. Reliability augmentation of work of information systems, efficiency of use of the hardware and cutting of costs for service was a main objective. Based on tender by the partner the Softline company which already had successful experience of cooperation with the enterprise for deliveries to software and other IT projects was selected from implementation of the tasks.

Project Progress

Specialists of Softline carried out comparison of products of different producers and their characteristics, and the solution which is completely corresponding to assigned tasks and also standards adopted at the enterprise was as a result selected. During the project engineers of Softline conducted examination and the analysis of IT infrastructure of the enterprise, prepared the description of future solution architecture, proceeding from features of functioning of the existing IT systems and used at the software enterprise. Preparation and presetting of Windows Server, a clustering, and then the subsequent migration of servers in virtual environment was performed. Also the necessary documentation regulating migration of the Active Directory (AD) and virtualization according to which the complex of works was carried out was created.

Upgrade of service of the AD directory was in parallel performed. It was necessary for decrease in the total costs of infrastructure maintenance; increases in effective management of its resources; ensuring the distributed administration and the centralized control; reductions of number of the used equipment.

Result

The task to involve the technologies of Microsoft which are already applied by the customer and to provide to all users access to the upgraded solution was set for specialists of Softline. According to the results of the project this task was successfully solved. As a result the upgraded service of the directory was implemented on the Microsoft Windows Server platform taking into account the centralized administrative management model. Specialists create uniform base of accounts, the format of the name of resources is unified, remote administration of key components is provided. Also the number of users of service of the directory with a possibility of flexible scaling in the future was increased.
